Guillows SE-5A Scout - 24 inch Wingspan for Free Flight or R/C Conversion, 202

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

Sold

Large scale, well detailed kit. Can be flown rubber free flight, gas free flight, or converted to electric RC using modern small, light servos and receivers. Well detailed with scale plastic wheels, plastic propeller, vacuform nose/cowl and engine, full color decals, tissue, die cut balsa parts, rubber motor, plywood firewall, illustrated, detailed instructions and excellent full size plans. The model has not been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Guillow's founder, Paul K. Guillow, was a WWI naval aviator. In 1926 he began producing wooden model airplane kits. His 'Shelf Models' were some of the earlier non-flying models in production. Guillow's grew during the model boom of the 1930s, and when the Depression hit the hardest, Guillow's responded with lower prices and became one of the low price leaders, frequently advertising in Model Airplane News and other leading publications. During the war, like most manufacturers, Guillow's was forced to alternative materials such as cardboard and pine. Guillow's survived the post WWII slump by creating many inexpensive profile flying rubber powered aircraft and gliders in the 1950s (along with North Pacific) which became famous - some are still available today. The stick and tissue lines have been updated with laser cut parts and are still in production as of 2009.

MPC Boeing 747 United Airlines, 1/144, 1-4752

Sold

Still factory sealed. Dated 1982. From quality Airfix molds featuring optional position cabin and baggage doors, detailed engine nacelles, full landing gear and full color United Decals. Airfix B-24 Liberator Craftmaster Issue, 1/72, 1503-150

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Fair

Sold

From the 1960s. Wide 'White' box issue with white side panels and action-packed artwork showing part of a box formation of B-24s at the moment of "Bombs Away!" Guns blaze at attacking fighters while flak burst close in. One B-24 is going down with the starboard wing in flames. This was a well detailed kit for that time. Guns elevate and turrets move, ailerons, elevators and rudders move, the landing gear retracts and extends, props rotate, has 'good' cockpit detail, a crew of 8 and optional position crew entry door and ladder. Please NOTE the box is very rough, but the kit inside has not been started and is still sealed in the factory parts bag. With decals and instructions.

MPC Dodge A-100 Deora Show Car or Custom Camper by Alexander Brothers, 1/25, 6221

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Sold

From 1987. Who can forget the Deora show car? My first exposure was a Mattel 'Hot Wheel' Deora, and the car's image seemed to be everywhere for quite a while. Mike and Larry, the Alexander Brothers, ran a well known and respected customizing shop in the late 1960s. Upon seeing the cab-forward Dodge A-100 Utility Truck, they had an inspiration. What they created was a timeless classic from a true 'ugly duckling.' To top it, the Deora show car was a completely functional car, not just a 'trailered' vehicle. Kit includes custom anodizing gold paint to simulate the original finish of the Deora. Can be built in one of two versions - the one on the box top or the enclosed version with a camper rear. Features complete interior, opening doors, detailed 6 cylinder engine and full decals. Never started. The chrome parts are still factory sealed. The yellow plastic parts are open and inventoried complete. With decals and instructions. There is a closed crack on the lower body headlight surround (an easy fix). I would suggest putting the headlight bucket in first, then make the repair as that would greatly simplify and strengthen it.

Aurora Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress, 1/156, 491

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG++

Sold

Dated 1961. This issue has the oval 'sunburst' logo, so the actual issue date is probably the mid 1960s. The hardbox has very nice color and gloss, four solid corners and light wear as shown. The kit is molded in olive drab and clear and contains the correct Aurora 'world' triangle stand. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. The instructions and decals are both in 'excellent' condition.

Inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions.

United Sumpter Valley No. 250 2-6-6-2 Brass Locomotive And Tender HOn3 Narrow Gauge - Pacific Fast Mail, 1/87

Metal Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

Sold

Very rare and in amazing condition. Beautiful brass locomotive and tender, hand-built in Japan by the famous United Scale Models. This one-owner model has always been carefully stored in the original box. Inside, it is like new. The locomotive and tender are still wrapped in the original plastic and all three pieces of factory foam in 'excellent+' condition. Under 14x magnification I cannot see but the slightest if any wear on the wheels, so I would grade it as 'never run' although it was test run at United before shipping. There are no modifications and after careful examination I believe this model to be complete and with no broken parts; but please examine the photos for yourself! Ask me if you need something checked more closely. I have no narrow gauge track, so I am unable to test the locomotive, so it is sold "As Is." There is no paperwork present. Must be shipped insured.
