This is a Cleveland true-scale flying model in museum scale of 1/16. All Cleveland kits were exceptionally complete for their time and this one is no exception. Features very high quality balsa printwood, stringers and sparts, nose block, fully finished thrust bearing and spinner, rear hardwood rubber motor holder, clear windshield celluloid, balsa and metal stock, gray rigging material, full color insignia, covering material and highest quality plans. Even includes the original factory packing tissue. The model has not been started. The parts are inventoried 100% complete and includes all paperwork. Cleveland Model and Supply Company played a pivotal role in the development of true scale models. In 1909 Bleriot's English Channel flight caused a surge in aviation and model aircraft around the globe. Several companies were ideally positioned to take advantage of the aviation craze. In the USA, Wading River Manufacturing Co. (1909), White Aeroplane (1911), Ideal Model Aeroplane (1911), Broadfield Model Aeroplanes (1919) were among these pioneers, offering everything from plans and parts to complete kits and ARF models. Lindbergh's 1927 crossing of the Atlantic Ocean caused an even bigger world-wide phenomenon called "The Aviation Craze" that extended up to the start of World War II. Many companies such as Megow, Guillow's and others started right around the time of Lindbergh's flight. Some of these models flew and flew well, but they all had one thing in common - were generally not accurate scale representations. In 1929, a youngster named Ed Packard had a very advanced dream- to produce incredibly accurate, true scale models that flew perfectly. This radical idea established the world's longest running single-owner (77 years) model airplane supply business - Cleveland Model and Supply Company. To this day, Cleveland models are treasured as the most accurate flying scale models produced. The fact that Mr. Packard started and successfully grew this business during The Great Depression is a testament to his ideals and business skill. I highly suggest the excellent book called 'Aviation's great Recruiter - Cleveland's Ed Packard' by H.L. (Herm) Schreiner. It is an excellent history of the man, his company and the times of the Golden Age of Model Aviation.

The Seahawk was the last aircraft to serve aboard US Navy Battleships and Cruisers. The SC-1 was the single-seat replacement for the venerable Kingfisher. The design was a success, but saw limited use at the end of WWII due to the late service introduction. Top speed was 315 MPH with Float, a range of 650 miles and a ceiling of 32,000 feet.

These are 1/700 scale waterline kit that are very highly detailed and finely molded. CV-6 has a combat record unequaled in history of the US Navy and is considered the most Successful Warship in History. Her totals were as follows: 20 Battle Stars, 911 Aircraft Destroyed and 71 Ships Sunk. She took part in almost every major action of the Pacific war from 1941 to 1945. The fascinating history of this ship is told by Commander Edward P. Stafford, USN, in his legendary book "The Big E - The Story of the USS Enterprise."

Excellent injection molded model that includes cast metal details. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. The Type 90 Aircraft Carrier fighter was the first ship-born fighter designed and built in Japan. Nakajima worked out a design and had trial production for a new fighter to replace the old Type 3 fighter. This design, called the NY, failed Navy trials. However, Nakajima changed to another designer, Mr. Kurihara and he came up with another fighter called NY Kai which was equipped with a newly developed Kotobuki type engine. The prototype was done in May of 1931 and this design proved superior to the existing Type 3 fighter. it was officially adapted by the Navy as the Type 90 Carrier Fighter in April of 1932.

Rare kit of the non-air cooled Tony. Many Ki-100 aircraft sat engineless, so the Kawasaki design team successfully change the fuselage to fit the HA-112 air cooled engine. Although slightly slower, the new Ki-100 was lighter, had a better rate of climb and was better balanced, holding its own in dogfights with P-51Ds or Hellcats. Only 390 units were made. The kit features all fine recessed panel lines, cast metal gear struts and cockpit details, wheel well detail, drop tank, seated and standing pilot figures and decals for three different aircraft. NOTE: this kit has very minor and 'professional' quality subassembly - the control stick is glued to the floor. There is no other assembly. 1969 hardbox issue in superb, investment-grade 'Near Mint' condition with factory-new color and gloss, four solid corners, no fading or stains and very light wear as the only flaw. In the late 1960s/early 1970s, Aurora realized that it needed to produce new and better kits if they were to stay in business. Several helicopters, aircraft and ships were released with markedly improved mold quality from the older kits. The HH-3 is one of those kits. The result is a very nice scale model with fine molded detail. Never started. Inventoried with all parts, decals and instructions present.
