Finely molded and features canopies that open and close to show cockpit detail, detailed gear wells, detailed gun bay with .50 caliber machine guns and removable hatch, rotating wheels and propellers, missiles, bombs and drop tank loadout and decals for black finish all weather night fighter or silver finish escort fighter. NOTE: both have 'professional' quality subassembly as follows: Kit #1 wing halves (3 parts, lower wing and 2 outboard panels), guns to center bay; drop tanks, cockpits, prop assemblies; bombs; gun door to center panel and dual rocket arms to the wings (outboard, one each). There is minor paint to interior parts. Kit #2 has wing halves (3 parts), guns, drop tank and radome halves, fuselage halves (4 parts total); gear doors (in closed position), prop assemblies, cockpits, outer pylons to lower wing and bombs. This one is configured for bombs only and Kit #1 Missiles only by borrowing parts from each other. There is minor painting to interior parts. Large 1/20 scale kit that is very highly detailed. Features moving elevators, rudder, ailerons and wing flaps, metal nose and main gear struts with working metal spring suspension, working dual landing lights, wheel chocks, super detailed interior with fold down front seats, rear seats, seat belts for front and rear, rudder pedals, battery with wiring, full instruments that are back lit with light bulbs, side panels, opening canopy and much more. All lights and the motor work off pulling one of the control yokes toward the pilot's seat. The kit is intended to be motorized but Nichimo did not include the motor to avoid the 'toy' import tax classification. All hardware is included except for the motor. The batteries for the motor and lights are hidden in the fuselage behind the cockpit. The engine is practically a kit in itself. It includes a detailed engine block, engine cylinder heads that are built up with all metal cooling fins and spacers, all accessories, full wiring, detailed firewall, opening cowling, complete exhaust, optional acrobatic sliding canopy and much more. There are even three passenger figures with luggage and a positionable pilot figure. The kit has never been started. All of the original factory cardboard presentation displays are present and in "excellent+" condition. All parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and blister packs. Includes a beautiful color painting guide, decal sheet and full instruction book. including a very large and color decal sheet and detailed instructions. There are actually two decal sheets of the same size, but the front of one is stuck to the back of the other. I did not try to remove them.

Purchased new on November 26, 1965 at Bill's Model Shop in Cleveland, Ohio. 17 inch wingspan kit for rubber free flight or control line. Features an innovative system for dropping leaflets in flight. Includes quality die-cut balsa sheet parts, strip wood and spars, light plastic full engine cowl and other parts, die-cut clear windscreen, fully formed wire landing gear struts, finished main and tail wheels, rubber motor and plastic prop, covering tissue, a big sheet of full color decal and full size plans with excellent instructions. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete. Sterling was a famous manufacturer dating back to the 1930/40s flying model craze. Although they continued to produce kits for decades after the flying model slump following World War II, they eventually fell victim to the general lack of interest in modeling that occurred in the early 1980s. I always considered Sterling kits to be deluxe kits compared to other manufacturers.

Type Four box logo. Older but nice kit with 122 parts. Features movable control surfaces, elevating guns, rotating turrets, retracting landing gear, rotating props and wheels. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Please NOTE that two wheel halves are black and not gray like the rest of the parts. They are from an earlier issue of this same kit. This kit represents LV917-C, a Halifax operated by 158 Squadron (RAF Lissett) that completed 100 operational missions and survived the war. Only one other Halifax had more missions, 'LV917-E 'Friday the Thirteenth', also of 158.
