Life-Like 1936 Ford Roadster - (ex-Pyro), 1/32, 09288

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc+

$32

Still factory sealed. 1970s Life-Like issue from original 1960s Pyro molds. Features detailed molded chassis underside with separately molded front and rear suspension, complete interior, top boot or top in the 'up' position and rear trunk mounted spare tire. In the early to mid 1960s the Pyro company chose many of its kit subjects based more on historical significance than popularity. Luckily for us, Pyro not only made these kits but did an excellent job for the time. The Pyro car models are based on the actual cars that Pyro engineers and designers had access to. Pyro stated that it can be converted to a 'road racing' or slot car.

Airfix Focke-Wulf FW-190D - Craftmaster Issue, 1/72, 1223-50

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

$24

1960s issue in the larger format box with black box sides. The smaller box is kit #6-39. A well-holed and damaged FW makes a hasty power-off landing in this dramatic box art. The emergency vehicles race down the runway ready to douse the flaming engine. The pilot has the canopy open to clear the smoke or to make a hasty exit...or both. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Aurora De Haviland DH-10 Bomber, 1/48, 125-198

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc+

$125

Dated 1957 with classic Jo Kotula box art. This is the edition with the '198' price circle in the upper right and no Parent's Magazine approval seal. Box is in 'excellent+' condition with like new color and gloss, four solid corners and no tape or price tags. Flaws include very, very light wear and creasing. Molded in gloss olive drab and clear. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Even includes the original tissue packing paper.

Yunyj Tyechinik Yakovlev Yak-18 II Light Acrobatic Aircraft - Bagged, 1/40

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc+

$18

Classic Cold War kit in large 1/40 scale. Features fine raised panel lines, pilot figure, 'in flight' configuration and decals. Molded in gray, white and clear. The kit has not been started. NOTE: missing prop retainer and display stand. Inventoried with all other parts, decals and instructions. I believe this is a 'Yunyj Tyechinik' release and not the earlier MZMPI. This company succeeded MZMPI (which was the first kit manufacturer in the USSR) and continued till a new name was introduced in the mid 1970s. Yak-18s have been observed in service with the North Korean air force as recently as August 2018.

Aeroclub Mig-17PF Conversion Kit, 1/72

Vacuform Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed

$16

Still factory sealed. Kit contains full instructions, cast metal nose and tail cone and high quality vacuform fuselage. Requires a base kit, and the Hasegawa 1/72 Mig-17 is recommended.

Aurora Regulus II Guided Missile with Launcher, 1/48, 378-249

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$379

1958 release of this kit featuring classic Jo Kotula boxart. The large 1/48 scale missile comes with a fully operational scale launcher. The hardbox has 'very good' color and gloss, four solid corners, no price tag or tape tears and no torn or missing litho. Flaws include general wear and edge and corner wear as shown. The kit has never been started and is factory new inside right down to the original tissue packing paper. Aurora factory sealed the silver parts and the red missile parts; these are both still sealed. The deep blue parts were not sealed but have been inventoried 100% complete. Includes decals and instructions in 'excellent' condition. This kit must be shipped insured. The Aurora "Missile Line" is legendary. In the late 1950s, the first missile model kits sold briskly, so Aurora and Revell both planned extensive lines. However, the missile modeling craze disappeared as quickly as it started. Models that were in the works were canceled or completed if they were far enough along. Those that were completed were fine efforts but sold poorly and had very short lives, making them rare collector items today.

The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes instructions. The 'A' class of German torpedo boats began construction in 1915. Many were built, but A83 through 85 could not be completed at the end of WWI so they were scrapped at Kiel. Many of the A class ended up Polish and Belgian Navies after the war. The balance of the finished ships were scrapped in Britain.

Brifaut Antoinette 1908, 1/72

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG-

$275

Very rare kit of French manufacture. Like many of the other Brifaut kits, this one features injection molded internal aircraft parts that duplicate the actual aircraft structure, and a fine cloth covering material that looks like silk. The kit has never been started. Inside, it is in factory-new condition. All parts are still internally sealed. The original 'La Racine Touchtout' rigging line is present, along with the cloth covering and all the paper work: 3 pages of aircraft history, pattern guide for the cloth, beautiful illustrated instructions and written instructions as well. It is very unusual to find this kit so complete. Other kits in the line are on the side of the box and include the Eole (Clement Ader), Antoinette, Voisin, Nieuport XVII, 'Vieux Charles' and Arc En Ciel. This kit must be shipped insured.

Revell Lockheed F-94 Starfire 1st Issue - Pre 'S' One Piece Box, 1/56, H201-59

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Fair

$145

One of the first three Revell aircraft molds issued in 1953. This kit is correct with no rivets and no landing gear. Instructions are printed on the back of the box. Molded in the correct high gloss silver and clear. The kit has never been started. NOTE: missing stand arm. Otherwise inventoried with all other parts and decals. The box has wear and creasing as shown. It is missing three of the four small inside flaps. Both large and visible end flaps are complete. Please note that this kit is different from the 'Pre-S' issue in the following ways: no rivet detail, almost no panel lines, different part numbers, pilots are a part of the fuselage (busts only), one piece wings and absence of the pods at the half-wingspan line, no landing gear and no holes for such, very early 'Colortone' logo decals and a silver, two piece plastic stand of a unique design that was not used again.

Orange Crush-Revell 1915 Ford Model T, 1/32

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

$69

Very rare kit with a fascinating history. Around 1958/59, Orange Crush of Mexico offered a promotion. They offered free, colorful, plastic model cars if you collected correctly-marked Orange Crush bottle caps. The models are 1/32 scale Revell Highway Pioneer series - although there is no mention of Revell or Lodela anywhere on the box. Orange Crush had the boxes and even the instructions specially made for them with no mention of a manufacturer. They were never given numbers. The boxes were very thin and fragile cardboard. This has contributed to wear and you must be very cautious with them. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bag and the instructions are sealed in the bag as well. You could redeem your caps two ways - at the Orange Crush truck and at a Modelandia Hobby House. The box sides show the 18 cars in the series. Orange Crush also released two full-color booklets and a complete paint set for the cars. A colorful cardboard box held 7 colors of paint in glass bottles, complete with 'Orange Crush' screw-on caps! The entire promotion was done in coordination with Modelandia Hobby House which had up to 19 stores. Modelandia's name appears on each of the boxes and the paint as well. Robina S.A. was the bottler or distributor of Orange Crush in Mexico at that time. The box side lists the other 18 kits with small color pictures of each and shows three sizes of OC - Family Size (Familiar), Grand (Grande) and Normal. You could also obtain models with Titan bottle caps. Titan was also bottled by Robina and came in large (Titan) and smaller (Titancito) sizes and apparently more than one flavor. We do not know how Orange Crush had access to the plastic kits or who sealed the internal bags with the Crush instructions inside them. We can assume that it may have been Lodela, since they would have had access to the Revell molds. It is not know for how long the promotion lasted, but Orange Crush was one of the most dominant soft drinks in Mexico at that time. Here is one clue: some boxes claim that Modelandia had 13 locations; other boxes, which obviously came later on, claim 19 locations. This may indicate that this promotion went on for a significant amount of time.
