Plastic Model Kit, Box Condition: Exc++
$210
Very Rare 1960 hardbox first issue and ever rarer in this condition. The 'Excellent++' condition box features great framable John Steel artwork. Inside, it even contains a factory-wrapped very colorful metal tube of 'S' glue as well as a history of the Seeadler, a message from Count Luckner, a map of the journey and locations & names of all the ships sunk by the raider. This is a kit of a fantastic subject, the famous WWI sailing commerce raider of Count Felix Von Luckner. It is a very well detailed model for that time and has a full hull, display stand, detailed deck houses and deck fittings, davits and ship's boats, guns, fife rails, preformed rat lines, rigging material, rigging instructions and much more. Molded in gray, brown & black plastic. Never started. It has been inventoried 100% complete with all parts and includes the flag sheet and instructions. The SMS Seeadler was a unique WWI raider in that it was not designed to elude the British blockade and break out to sea...it was designed to pass right through the blockade within full view of the British before attacking allied shipping around the world. No detail was overlooked in the Seeadler's preparation, right down to a Norwegian-speaking crew. The plan went perfectly - and the Seeadler passed inspection at the British Blockade. Her non-threatening appearance helped her in an active and colorful raiding career that nearly went around the world. I highly recommend reading any of several books that you can find about this ship. Von Luckner himself became quite a celebrity for his exciting exploits.

From about 1967. In addition to cars, ships, planes and figures, Pyro had an excellent line of well (and not-so-well) known life-sized scale pistol and rifle models in their line. In each case Pyro gained access to the actual weapon during the kit design, insuring a very accurate model. This is a full size model is based on the copy in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The kit has never been started. Inventoried and NOTE: missing internal metal spring for trigger, (2) #18 dummy screws (easily replaced) and #12, the flint. Otherwise inventoried with all other parts including instructions.

Rare original hardbox issue from 1958; not the common 1990s reproduction. The model features working flexible treads, rotating turret with elevating gun, optional position hatches, four troops and more. Molded in the correct gloss deep green and with silver flexible tracks. Never started. All parts, decals and instructions have been inventoried 100% complete and are correct for this early issue. The box top has factory-new color and gloss, four solid corners and no repairs. The flaws are corner wear on the left as shown, a very light price tag pull on the left short side and a 3/4" x 3/4" factory tape pull on the long lower side. The original store neatly marked out the '129' price extension on both short side panels and wrote a very small '70' cents next to it.

1966 hardbox issue that is from the exact same molds as the USS Randall 1950s 'S' kit. This is a highly detailed and excellent kit for that time. One of the 'Holy Grails' of 1950s Space Kits and in great condition inside and out. This is the 1957 first and only issue 'S' Kit with fantastic box art. The molds were reportedly damaged beyond use, which makes reissues impossible. The spaceship was designed by the rocket scientist Ellwyn E. Angle of Systems Laboratories Inc. Features detailed manned top stage with full interior, removable top, opening hatch, spaceship and ground crew members and detailed working launch pad. The main stages and boosters snap apart to recreate all phases of the flight from Earth takeoff, Lunar Landing and Return to Earth. The included 'XSL-01 Operations Manual' outlines in words and illustrations each phase of the spaceship's trip. Molded in the correct gloss orange, silver, gloss metallic blue and clear. Never started. All internal factory cardboard presentation material is present and excellent. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. The decals are perfectly flat, 100% intact and graded 'excellent++' with very light age yellowing as the only flaw. The Operations Manual booklet is in 'excellent' condition. The instructions are graded 'Very Good+' only because a previous owner marked off the part numbers as he inventoried the kit; other than that, they are fine. The box is graded 'very good' and features factory-new color and gloss, four solid corners, no repairs, fading or stains, no price tags or marks from price tags. Flaws include light creases as shown on the two lower corners, light surface wear (mainly to the right of "Space Ship" as shown) and a 1" x 1/2" tape tear on the right long side. Shipping insurance is required on this kit.
