Plastic Model Kit, Box Condition: Good++
$48
Rare very early issue from 1956 with Northern Lights logo and the 69 cent price circle on the right of the box top. What is most unusual is that the price is within a red-filled circle; this is the second instance of this that I have seen in more than 26 years. Just when you think you have Aurora's kit history figured out, they throw you another curve ball! Molded in the correct glossy dark green and black. Decals and instructions are correct for the first issue as well. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Even includes the original factory tissue packing material.

Molded in the correct gloss dark green and clear & includes the correct large rectangle-based early Aurora stand. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Even includes the original factory tissue packing paper.

Very attractive 1930s float plane. Contains markings for Czech Air Force. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. And thank you to Ales Pakosta for the following information- The actual use of the S-328 floatplane was quite unique. It was used as a training target tug plane during the Czechoslovak Anti-Aircraft Artillery maneuvers in contemporary Yugoslavia, in the Boka Kotorska (Bay of Kotor, now in Montenegro). In fact, it was not for naval artillery training but was done in this way so that shells fired from shore fell into the sea to prevent damage on the land. As there was no appropriate airfield nearby, the target tug aircraft had to operate from the sea surface. As a result, about three aircraft were modified for this task from land-based light bomber-scout biplane. They replaced the classic fixed undercarriage with a pair of floats purchased from the British Short company. The seaplanes remained in use for a several years in this special role. The land-based versions of the S-328 (which can be built from the kit as well) were very popular in the Czechoslovak Air force in the mid thirties; many were seized by Luftwaffe in 1939. The last known combat use of these machines came in 1944 during the Slovakian National Uprising, when their pilots had to fight such planes as Messerschmidt Bf109G.

Full hull kit measures almost 10 inches long when assembled and features very good molded detail including wood planking on the deck, wood grain on the hull and even copper plates below the waterline, pre-molded ratlines, detailed deck, billowing sails and display stand. Molded wood brown and off-white. A photo of the built kit on the instructions serves as a standing rigging diagram. Never started. Inventoried complete and includes the instructions. This is one of the 'intermediate' line of Pyro ship kits, which at the time were Pyro called '$1.00 Models'. All were roughly the same size and were a significant increase in detail from the '50 Cent Models'.
