The box artwork is copyright dated 1953 but the actual date of this release is about 1955/56 due to the beautiful and large fold-out instructions which have an amazing cut away full-color drawing of the ship on the back. This model builds to an excellent kit. Includes detailed decks and fittings, lifeboats, decals, flags and rigging instructions. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts including decals, flags and instructions. The box displays better than the 'good+++' rating but is graded as such because there is a 1.75" long closed tear on the long top side.

It features all parts required for the stock hardtop , stock convertible or two Darryl Starbird customs - one hardtop and the other a futuristic bubble-top. The kit is from high-quality molds with 161 parts. All 4 variants feature a detailed engine, engine compartment, underside with suspension, exhaust and drive line, full interior, opening doors and hood. The first custom is a mild hardtop custom with unique grill insert, interior touches, gauges and decals. The full custom is a fascinating design with large clear bubbles for the roof, unique front grill and bumper, unique rear bumper, wild decals and more. Molded in chrome, high gloss red, gloss black, white, clear and with rubber tires. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions. 1972 hardbox issue with dramatic John Steel artwork. This model is from the same molds as the classic 1950s kit. Large scale, full hull kit is well detailed and features finely engraved hull with raised panel lines, detailed superstructure with ammo boxes, pump case, life rafts and rings, searchlights, horn , DF loop antenna, clear windows, ships wheel and even tiny engine speed control levers. Weapons include 20mm gun with magazine and shield, two angled Mk20 boxes, depth charges and racks and two hedge-hog launchers with four hedgehogs each. Deck fittings are complete with bitts, hatches, towline bitt and stops, staffs, vents, anchor, lifeboat, mast with radar antenna and platform light and stanchions that you can easily rig to create a railing. Includes a nice display stand. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The 95' U.S. Coast Guard Cutter 95304, a Coastal Patrol Boat was one of 36 boats built between 1953 and 1959. These cutters were stationed all along the U.S. coasts and performed Search and Rescue missions, and Port Security duty. Nine of the vessels were transferred to South Korea. The remaining vessels remained on active Coast Guard duty until 1986 to 1990. They were replaced with a succession of 82', 87' and 110' Patrol Boats.

Very nice package with both kits, a full color poster of the battle from the original Ray Gaedke box art done in the 1950s, a nice brochure with an illustrated history of the battle, paints and brush, blue plastic seascape battle display base and full decals. Merrimac measures just shy of 13 inches long and the Monitor measures 8.25 inches long. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes instructions. These are the two American Civil war ships that spelled the end of the wooden ship age. In March of 1862, the Merrimac put to sea to raise the Union Blockade off the James River. There she sank the Cumberland and Congress. The Monitor, the Union's only ironclad and the first turret ship, was rushed to the scene. The epic battle between the two iron-clad ships ended in a draw, with the Merrimac suffering a little more damage than the Monitor. The Merrimac was blown up to avoid capture; the Monitor sank in a gale in 1862.
