Sterling was a famous manufacturer dating back to the 1930/40s flying model craze. Although they continued to produce kits for decades after the flying model slump following World War II, they eventually fell victim to the general lack of interest in modeling that occurred in the early 1980s. I always considered Sterling models to be deluxe kits as they featured color decals, high-grade die cut balsa, vacuform plastic detail parts, plastic wheels (if required), finished wire landing gear, rubber motor and plastic prop, full size plans with instruction details and full instructions for conversion to RC or control line. The kit has never been started. The small parts that were factory sealed are still in the sealed bag. NOTE: the decals are 100% intact and flat but they have very, very light stains on the backing paper due to moisture damage. Hard-to-find model that is from the late 1960s or early 70s. It features very easy assembly, die-cut, high quality balsa wood parts, hinge material for the elevator, fully formed wheels, wire stock for the landing gear strut and control line hardware (& pushrod), metal motor mounts, control horn, bellcrank, other hardware and more. The excellent instructions have step-by-step text and are heavily illustrated with general and detail drawings. There is even a section on how to make your first solo flight. The kit has never been assembled but NOTE: there is some 'professional' quality sanding done to the edges of the fuselage and wing. There is no other work done. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.
