1960s Revell of Great Britain issue with unique box art. There are two GB issues and this is the one with the slightly larger box. The model features very good engine detail, pilot and basic cockpit, rotating propeller & wheels and more. As with most GB issues, the decal sheet is improved and includes full-horizontal and vertical stabilizer size white & red markings with leading edge black scallops, all white and blue cowling stripes, white and blue side fuselage stripes, white and black headrest markings, squadron markings and national insignia / US Army text and aircraft number. 1958 'S' issue with incredible box art in 'near mint-' condition. Color and gloss are like new. All four corners are solid and there are no repairs, no price tags, fading or even wrinkles & creases. The only flaws are very light and isolated shelf wear and a 1/2" closed tear on the upper left side (at the factory sealing tape). This model is well detailed and molded for that time and features incredibly fine all-recessed panel lines and rivets, moving wing flaps, ailerons, elevators and rudder, detailed landing gear, optional opened or closed speed brakes with well detail, a full crew as well as a guard figure. Molded in the correct gloss silver and clear. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions, which are both in 'excellent' condition.

Woods shot down a Betty and a Zero before going to Europe. There he downed 8 more aircraft and was awarded the Silver Star.
