Some of the LS molds are still used today by Hasegawa, testifying to their detail and accuracy. DD-792 USS Callaghan was sunk July 9, 1945, by a Willow configured for kamikaze attack. It has been reported the light construction of the aircraft prevented the ship's AA ammunition proximity fuses from detonating. The type was also reported to have been used by Indonesian forces against Dutch colonial rule in 1947.

The kit is engineered for two electric motors; however, LS did not include them as they were sold separately. The batteries are held in a cleverly designed matching-scale fuel truck. Features all fine recessed panel lines, very good cockpit and crew station detail with crew, rotating turret with elevating gun, torpedo load with ground torpedo trolley, working bomb bay doors, working crew entry door, working slide-out style trailing edge wing flaps and ailerons, retractable main and tail landing gear with operating gear doors, rotating wheels & propellers, ground crew, wheel chocks and more. Includes decals and a beautiful and large full color painting guide for three different aircraft and a high-gloss, full color lithograph of a cutaway fuselage with full interior in case you wish to add even more. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. Even the original glue is present. Please note, this box has closed tears and damage to the upper right. The fact that Hasegawa still uses some LS molds testifies to their detail and accuracy.

SALE!! Includes all 6 kits in the boxes shown. NOTE: Sold AS-IS and not inventoried. This collector was very meticulous and of the 6,000+ kits of his that I did inventory, 95+% are complete. But on these kits he cut the sprue (trees) with the part numbers still attached to each number, so the parts are loose. Because of that, I have not inventoried these kits. NOTE: he built minor sub assemblies (cockpit tubs, wing halves, etc) to 'professional' quality. He also almost always removed the display stands (if provided). Again, these kits are sold not inventoried and AS IS hence the very low price.
