1954 Pre-S release. The Pre-S and S kits are considered the apex of model kit box art and it is easy to see why these kits are so desired and collectible. Molded in the original gloss silver and clear and includes the clear 'Revelving Swivel Base' display stand. Inside, everything is exactly as it left the factory. The small parts are still in the original sealed bag and the larger parts that were never sealed have been inventoried complete. Includes decals and instructions both in 'excellent+' condition. The box would grade higher than 'very good+' but there is one tiny closed pencil-point sized hole at the far right (lower) side and two same size closed holes on the short right panel.

A. Kikoler Revell of Brazil Issue from the 1960s. The model is from the same molds as the detailed 1950s 'S' kit and makes an ideal 'Classic Builder.' Features rotating turrets, elevating guns, optional position crew doors, rotating propellers and more. Molded in dark US Navy blue and clear plastic. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. This is one of at least two box layout variations of the Kikoler PBM Famous Aircraft series.

1977 Revell Takara Japan issue with high-gloss box art only seen on this release. Like most of Revell Japan kits, it has special features. First, there is greatly expanded decal sheet and paint guide that covers 3 different aircraft from 1940 & (2) from 1941; there is also a section entitled 'More Modeling' which includes a paint guide for the CR-42CN from 1941 for which Revell includes some (but not all) of the decals. There is also a full color Revell Takara double-sided paint color reference guide. Also includes rigging diagram & tips. This issue is the 'all gun' version of the Fletcher with the maximum main armament; Revell soon modified the molds to represent the later ships of the class. The beautiful boxart has wear as shown. Rare 1956 first issue. The box is complete and has 'good' color, four original solid corneres, no price tags or tag marks and no tape (other than the factory sealing tape). However, there is a fair amount of even, moderate age foxing on the top and all four sides. Highly detailed set includes both kits - the High Speed Tractor and the Long Tom 155mm gun. Has many working features - the tractor has movable tracks and working bogies, rotating and elevating machine gun, driver and interior details. The gun can be stowed for transport with the M-4 and all extra gear to do this correctly is supplied. The Long Tom features and elevating barrel, moving limbers and detailed mechanism. NOTE: this kit has minor and very neatly done assembly to 8 pieces as described: gun barrel halves assembled and puttied; recoil mechanism halves assembled and puttied; gun carried halves assembled and puttied; two wheels halves assembled. There is no other assembly. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Instructions and decals are both correct and in 'very good++' condition; the only flaw on the decals is typical age yellowing. NOTE: one piece has 'SNAP' engraved on the bottom so that part is clearly from the SNAP issue of this same kit. All other parts look to be Revell, as they are the correct shade of green plastic, correct sheen, part numbers, silver flexible tracks, etc., but pf course there is no way to 100% confirm that.

Revell XSL-01 Manned Space Ship - 'S' Issue, 1/96, H1800-198

One of the 'Holy Grails' of 1950s Space Kits and in exceptional condition inside and out. This is the 1957 first and only issue 'S' Kit with fantastic box art. The molds were reportedly damaged beyond use, which makes reissues impossible. The spaceship was designed by the rocket scientist Ellwyn E. Angle of Systems Laboratories Inc. Features detailed manned top stage with full interior, removable top, opening hatch, spaceship and ground crew members and detailed working launch pad. The main stages and boosters snap apart to recreate all phases of the flight from Earth takeoff, Lunar Landing and Return to Earth. The included 'XSL-01 Operations Manual' outlines in words and illustrations each phase of the spaceship's trip. Molded in the correct gloss orange, silver, gloss metallic blue and clear. Never started. All internal factory cardboard presentation material is present and excellent. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. Instructions and Operations manual booklet are both in 'excellent' condition. The decals perfectly flat, 100% intact and graded 'excellent' with age yellowing as the only flaw. The box is graded 'excellent+' and features factory-new color and gloss, four solid corners, no repairs, no rips, fading or stains, no creases, no price tags or marks from tags and no tape or tape marks (other than the factory sealing tape). The only flaws are very minor wear as shown, some corner wear and a small sliver of litho damage measuring 1/2" long by 1/16" wide on the right long side. Shipping insurance is required on this kit.
