Includes two factory-sealed and very large sets of aftermarket Bird of Time Decals for the top of one wing and the bottom of the other. This famous design and superb flier was re-engineered in this issue for lighter weight and easier building. It features a 3-meter split wing for easy transportation, unique airfoil that produces lift almost out to the tips, full moving stabilator with internal control linkage, all balsa structure with fully sheeted leading edge, die-cut balsa and plywood parts, many factory-cut balsa parts, wood stock as required, excellent full-size plans and more. Inside, the kit is exactly as it left the factory. It is never started and the parts that were factory sealed are still in the clear sealed bags. The larger parts were never sealed and are inventoried complete. Includes all paperwork. NOTE: this kit came from the factory in a very heavy and sturdy cardboard box. Rare and still factory sealed. This AHM release is from the original Crown molds that would make it 1/50 scale; Burn guide lists the mold origins as unknown and lists it as 1/48. Crown made a very good line of motorized tanks and AHM reissued many of them. Associated Hobby Manufactures was an American company that did not cut it's own molds but sourced model kits from around the world through the 1960s and probably into the 1970s as well.

Hard-to-find first issue in the 1968-dated hardbox. This kit was issued in conjunction with the TV series 'The Invaders' and represents the spaceship on the series. The box has like-new color and gloss, solid corners and no tape, price tags or litho tears. A slight bit of wear on the right short side and a very slight (and hard-to-see) crease at the lower right are the only flaw worth noting. The kit features retractable landing legs, detailed interior with four figures, removable top and optional clear top. Inside, the kit is mint. The parts are the original gloss medium gray. The model has never been started and has been inventoried complete with all parts and instructions. There are several differences between this first edition and the second release. The first one has the original box artwork, the clear top and gray 'lights' for the bottom. There is no stand in this issue. The second issue does not have a clear top, has red-tinted clear 'lights' for the underside, a display stand and 6 additional aliens for the ground base.
