$26

SALE!! Includes two kits in the one box shown. Both models are never started and the parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. Each one features fine recessed panel lines, many brass PE parts, detailed gear bays, realistic intake and exhaust, antenna rigging diagram and more. The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-9 was the first turbojet fighter developed by Mikoyan-Gurevich. Right after the end of World War 2, the Soviets used reverse-engineered German BMW 003 engines. However, the Mig-9 suffered from engine flameouts when firing the guns at high altitudes; the cause was gun gas ingestion. A number of different armament configurations were tested, but none solved the problem. Several different engines were evaluated, but none were flown in the Mig-9 because the prototype MiG-15 promised superior performance. A total of 610 aircraft were built, including prototypes, and they entered service in 1948 with the Soviet Air Forces. At least 372 were transferred to the People's Liberation Army Air Force in 1950 to defend Chinese cities against air raids by the Nationalist Chinese and train the Chinese pilots in jet operations. The MiG-9 was quickly replaced by the MiG-15. Three are known to survive.

MPM Aichi M6A1-K Nanzan - (M6A1K), 1/72, CZ004

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

$26

Early in the development of the Seiran submarine based float plane, two preproduction airframes emerged with retractable landing gear for land operation. These were likely the 5th and 6th prototypes and they had dual controls. They were given the 'K' designation for trainer. They could also be operated from the submarines as they had the same catapult attachment. Training may have taken place from land or taking off from the sub then landing on an airstrip. It is interesting that the original Seiran concept did not call for floats as the aircraft would launch from the submarine catapult and crash-land beside the submarine when the mission was over. This limited edition model kit features fine recessed panel line detail and decals for both aircraft. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.
