Pyro Gertrude L Thebaud Fishing Schooner, 206-298 plastic model kit

206-298 Pyro Gertrude L Thebaud Fishing Schooner

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

Rare early issue from Pyro that is likely from the very late 1950s or early 1960s. This is a very good model of the famous fishing schooner that was built by Louis G. Thebaud and christened by his wife Gertrude. After being initially defeated by the Blunose, the Thebaud won the Sir Thomas Lipton Trophy in 1930 in a hard-fought contest with her rival. The contest is still disputed to this day. The model measures 20 inches long when built and features 125 pieces, full one-piece hull with display stand, deck fittings, rigging material and full rigging instructions. Molded in black and wood tan. The kit has never been started. Almost all parts are still in the factory sealed bags. The few parts that were never factory sealed (the largest parts such as the hull and deck, etc) has been inventoried complete. Includes instructions with rigging details.
