1/72 05002-1 Airfix Bristol Superfreighter Mk.32

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Fair-

1975 issue of this nicely molded and detailed older kit. Features opening and closing clamshell nose cargo doors, front loading ramp, 'good' cockpit detail, crew of two, working rudder, elevators and ailerons and more. NOTE: this kit has minor 'professional' quality sub-assembly as noted: vertical stabilizer, rudder, horizontal stab, elevator and aileron halves all assembled and 6 side windows to left fuselage side ('excellent' quality). There is no other assembly. It has been inventoried and NOTE: missing two small flat side windows (easily made from flat clear stock or clear glue) and the decals; otherwise complete with all other parts and instructions. Superfreighter was an improved version of the Bristol Freighter. It was designed in 1952 and entered service in 1953 with Silver City Airways. Superfreighter's ease of maintenance, rugged design and ability to carry large loads made it immediately successful with the RAF and eight other air forces around the worlds, as well as with several airlines. Channel Air Bridge even operated a car ferry service across the channel.
