1/500 2604 Revell CV-14 USS Ticonderoga - Aircraft Carrier With Regulus I Missiles - Essex Class Angled Deck - (ex Renwal)
Plastic Model Kit, Box Condition: Sealed VG
Still factory sealed but the seal has splits. Revell 'Advent' issue is dated 1979 and is from the original Renwal molds. Very nicely designed and molded. This model is considered the finest injection molded kit of the angled deck Essex class aircraft carrier. Features one piece hull with display stand, rudder, propellers and shaft alleys, very detailed separately molded hull sides, full primary and secondary AA guns with directors, highly detailed island structure with radars, direction finders, signal lights and more, separately molded life rafts and whip antennas, rotating cranes, Grumman F9F-8 Cougars (5), folded wing Cougars (7), A-3D Skywarrior (2), helicopter, three Regulus missiles with two trailers and one launcher, full decals including draft markings and more. The Tico served with distinction in WWII. When that conflict ended, she was placed in the reserve fleet. To counter new threats, she was later modified into an angle-deck Essex like many of her sisters and recommissioned in 1954. This configuration is modeled upon the ship in late 1950s.
