1/78 H185-198 Revell Fairey Rotodyne - Cutaway Model with Full Interior
Plastic Model Kit, Box Condition: Good
1961 first issue of this unique and highly detailed model of Fairey's vertical take-off and landing transport. The first prototype flew in November 1957 and appeared at the Farnborough Air Show three years later. The Rotodyne could carry 60 civil passengers or 70 fully equipped troops as well as cargo. Cruising speed was 175 kts and maximum range was 610 nm. Kit features cut away design - a large fuselage panel can be removed to show off the complete interior with passenger seats, passengers, pilots, stewardess, baggage compartment (complete down to the suitcases), bathroom with toilet & sink and cargo compartment including boxes, tire, carpet and barrel. Another panel comes off at the support for the rotor to reveal internal aircraft structure and the rotor power transmission. Also includes complete cockpit, working boarding door and stairs, working rear clam-shell cargo doors, operating rudder and elevators and rotating wheels, props and main rotor. Never started. All paperwork and parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags. Literally all of the contents are sealed in one bag.
