Plastic Model Kit, Box Condition: Good-
Early in the development of the Seiran submarine based float plane, two preproduction airframes emerged with retractable landing gear for land operation. These were likely the 5th and 6th prototypes and they had dual controls. They were given the 'K' designation for trainer. They could also be operated from the submarines as they had the same catapult attachment. Training may have taken place from land or taking off from the sub then landing on an airstrip. It is interesting that the original Seiran concept did not call for floats as the aircraft would launch from the submarine catapult and crash-land beside the submarine when the mission was over. This limited edition model kit features fine recessed panel line detail and decals for both aircraft. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions.
