1/48 25-302 Lindberg Swee' Pea Goodyear Trophy Midget Air Racer

Early 1950s first issue with Lindberg 'Round Script' logo on both long sides. NOTE: builder kit only. Missing display base and struts. Includes all other parts and never applied decals, but has partial assembly. The fuselage and wing have been neatly built. Quality of assembly is 'excellent' or better and there is no other assembly. The instructions are on the back of the box. Decals are from the late 1950s issue of this kit. The first Goodyear Trophy Air Race was held in 1947 at the National Air Races in Cleveland, Ohio. This was the first race for the midget racers. This kit, the famous Swee' Pea (named after the famous comic character) received second place. The aircraft was designed by Art Chester and flown by Paul Penrose.
