Purchased new on December 16, 1966 from Barns Hobby in Cleveland, Ohio. Quality scale rubber-powered flying model with stick and tissue construction. Highly prefabricated balsa kit that does not use tissue covering. Features all die-cut wings, fuselage sides, formers, tail surfaces and more, vacuform engine, finished wheels, plastic prop, thrust button and spinner, metal hardware and prop shaft, rubber motor, full decals and superb plans with excellent instructions. Never started and inventoried complete. Carl Goldberg was a gifted designer of model aircraft, and his career spanned the evolution of flying models. His designs and number of titles won in competition at the Nationals is legendary. His first competition was the 1928 Nationals, where he received honorable mention. By 1934 he won the indoor Nats and in 1935 he opened a Hobby Shop, among the first in the nation (the first one was probably opened by Cleveland Models Ed Packard). Awards came quickly. He wrote articles for Model Airplane News, and was Comet's top designer from 1939 till 1945. After Comet, he worked with Mike Schlesinger and Sid Axelrod on what eventually became Top-Flite Models. In 1955 he founded Carl Goldberg Models and released a still-popular line of scale, rubber, gas, glider and RC models. Needless to say, Goldberg's models are of the highest quality.
