1/192 H1550-695 Revell Westinghouse Atomic Power Plant with Full Interior
Plastic Model Kit, Box Condition: Fair++
In 1959 Revell issued this incredibly detailed 'educational' kit of a standard Westinghouse Nuclear Plant. The kit was never reissued. It is a fairly complicated kit with hundreds of parts and the full interior to the power plant. The parts were molded in five colors to minimize painting. It contains all the items shown on the box top within the road boundry including a display mat with grass and roads, clear nuclear reactor vessel, separating reactor dome for full view of interior, movable gantry with operational hoist, working reactor hoist, circulating pumps, steam generator, turbine, electrical substation, high tension power lines and more. Includes the book "A New World of Atomic Power" by Dr. William E Shoupp at Westinghouse. NOTE: this is not a good collector kit but makes an excellent builder. There has been no painting but there has been assembly. Step one has been completed. The assembly is good and the clear dome is still very clear and is not smeared with glue. Several pipes have broken off this step and will have to be reglued. Small sections of step two (Dome/Base main parts) have been completed. No other steps have been started. The kit has been carefully inventoried and bagged by plastic color. Missing parts: 5 of the 10 figures and part #134 are missing. Part #134 is a small consol that goes inside a room; it is easily made with flat plastic stock and a decal showing controls covers it. All other parts are present. Instructions and decals as well as the special book and display mat are present also.
