1995 Reissue from the same molds as the popular 'Four Star' kit. In the 1970s, MPC released the very popular Profile Series. Inside each box was a quality Airfix kit but with MPC decals to build any of the aircraft shown on the box top. In this case there are decals for four aircraft. This is a well detailed model that features a great deal of interior and all crew stations, opening bomb bay doors, full bomb bay detail, complete weapons load, moving ailerons, elevators & rudder, optional position landing gear and more. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. The decals are in amazing 'near mint' condition which is very rare for these 1970s MPC kits. But before you use any older decals, please read the two articles (on this website) about saving and also reproducing old decals.

Very nicely detailed with fine raised panel detail, cockpit, open/closed bomb bay doors with internal iron bomb load, tail 'stinger' and detailed landing gear with good wheel well detail. Never started. The small parts are still in the factory sealed bag; the larger parts that were never sealed have been inventoried complete. Includes decals and instructions. NOTE: the decals have some age cracking on the upper right corner (there was moisture exposure at that spot). For new aftermarket decals, I recommend the excellent sheets From Warbird Decals and Caracal Models. The B-47 was a very advanced aircraft at the time. The XB-47 first flew in 1947. The big jet's speed was equal to or greater than all current fighter aircraft, so it received radar-controlled twin 20mm cannons in the tail as the only guns. Through the use of mid-air refueling, the B-47 gave SAC it's first all-jet force for nuclear or regular bomb delivery. Although it was tricky to fly, Stratojets flew into the mid 1960s. A program to strengthen the wings for low-level attack was responsible for prolonging the service life.
