1/48 05114 Glencoe Nieuport 28 C.1 - Rickenbacker / O'Neal / Campbell / Lufbery
Plastic Model Kit, Box Condition: Good+
This famous and sleek aircraft was initially rejected by the French Air Service and was given to the American Expeditionary Force due to the shortage of SPAD XIIIs. The Nieuport 28 was proven in combat and flown by most of America's WWI Aces. Decals are included for the USAF Museum replica of the 95th Aero Sq., Raoul Lufbery 95th Sq, Wentworth 95th Aero Sq, Ralph O'Neal 147th Sq, Douglas Campbell 94th Aero Sq, and two aircraft from Eddie Rickenbacker (#s 16 and 1) from the 94th Aero Sq. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. The box artwork for this kit was done by Charles Sterns. He was a very prolific model builder and painter. Besides several Glencoe kits, one of his many paintings can be seen as the cover art for Over the Front magazine, 1992: Volume 7, Number 2.
