Revell Stag Hound Clipper - The Largest Merchant Ship of Her Day, 1/216, H345-300

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

$85

From 1966 and very well detailed like all early Revell sailing ships. This full-hull model features complete deck fittings & deck housings, deadeyes, fife rails, ships boats, five piece masts with separately molded platforms and cross trees, separately mold yards that can be positioned at any angle, display stand & name plate, premolded ratlines, optional sails, standing and running rigging material and full rigging instructions. Molded in three colors; black, white and wood tan. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes color flag sheet, decals and instructions. Please NOTE that the original owner painted out the Revell logo at the top right; that is the only reason that the box is graded only 'good-.' The Stag Hound was designed by the famous Donald McKay and was launched on December 7, 1850. She is famous for her great speed and turned a nice profit for her owners. The most notable event was when the Stag Hound was asked to take a copy of President Lincoln's inaugural address to London. During this run, she raced the steamer 'America' and won easily. Shortly after this she was lost off Brazil to a spontaneous combustion of her coal cargo. The crew successfully abandoned ship. The captain was the last to leave. He lowered the American Flag, wrapped it around himself and jumped overboard.

Revell Cutty Sark Clipper Ship - 3 Feet Long, 1/96, H364-995

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Fair

$125

Rare first issue of this kit dated 1960. Large and highly detailed, measuring 36 inches long when built. This kit is the standard that other large-scale plastic sailing ships models are measured by. Since this is the first issue, the model has the factory painted copper hull below the waterline. The model features highly detailed deck, deck houses, cargo holds and removable covers, masts, yards and booms, bilge pump, windlass, 20 crew figure, lifeboats with oars, life preservers, anchors and anchor chains. With draftline and transom decals, figurehead, finely detailed hull, preformed ratlines and molded deadeyes, pin rails and blocks, full standing rigging instructions and diagrams and thread & chain for rigging. Molded in three colors - black, ivory/white and dark swirl wood tan. Inside, there has never been any assembly but NOTE: the bulwarks and outer raised white hull trim have been airbrushed white on both hull halves. While the work is neat (very good+ to excellent), there is white overspray on the factory copper paint. There is no other painting. The parts have been inventoried 100% complete and includes decals, color flag sheet, standing and running rigging line, chain and all assembly and rigging instructions. NOTE: the part numbers are off from the instruction book; I believe that the parts are from a later issue. I have also included a set of copied instructions that lines up perfectly with all of the part numbers on the trees.

Revell Santa Maria - Columbus' Flagship, 1/90, 5627

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

Revell P&O SS Oriana Ocean Liner, 1/493, H376-298

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$129

This is a 2006 reissue of the original 1961 kit. The model is 20 inches long, full hull and well detailed. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. The Oriana was a very famous P&O Orient Liner. In December 1962, in fog off San Diego, Oriana collided with CV-33 USS Kearsarge, causing considerable damage to both vessels. A claims court found Oriana's captain had been steaming too fast for conditions. Afterwards, the CV was good-naturedly nicknamed "The Mighty Kay-runch."

Revell Tanker J.L. Hanna - Standard Oil of California T-2 - S Issue, 1/400, H322-169

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

$145

1955 'S' issue with some of my favorite artwork from this era. The box has wonderful color and gloss but is only graded 'Excellent' due to other light wear as shown. Inside, the model is molded in the correct gloss dark red plastic and has not been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Revell Harbor Tug Long Beach - Pre S Issue, 1/108, H314-129

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

$110

Rare 1955 Revell model with the great box artwork that has made these kits so famous and collectible. This large-scale model features excellent detail for that time and almost all items shown in the box art - railings, grates, name boards, navigation lights, vents, whistles, bumpers, bitts and even two crew members. NOTE: this kit has minor, 'professional' quality subassembly as follows: cover to lifeboat; rudder & small mount (for the propeller) to the hull; lower superstructure (5 pieces, four walls and roof). There is no other assembly. Inventoried 100% complete and includes decals and instructions. The box rates only 'very good' because it has isolated and light age spotting as shown. The Long Beach was built in Decatur, Alabama in 1943 and was one of a fleet of tugs operated by the Wilmington Transportation Company. She had a registered length of 81.1 feet and a beam of 24 feet. Gross tonnage was 146 inches and she drew 8 feet of water. Powered by a 700 hp diesel, the range was just over 3,500 miles.

Rare 1956 Revell Gift set containing all three ships and even the unopened tube of colorful Revell "S" cement. This was the first and only issue of this specific gift set and features spectacular special box artwork. The tugboat is 1/108 scale and the tanker and cargo ship are both 1/400. Inside, the kit is 100% correct. The special color cardboard over lay is factory fresh. The tug and C-3 lower hulls are factory painted red (the T-2 was molded in red so it was not painted). Decals are included. The instruction sheets are excellent with the typical yellowing as the only flaw. The three kits have not been started. The tug and freighter still have the small parts in the factory sealed clear bags; the parts that were never sealed have been inventoried complete. The tanker has been inventoried 100% complete. All three kits include decals and instructions. The box has brilliant color and gloss, four solid corners and no repairs. There is no tape, tape marks, price tags or price tag marks.
