This attractive floatplane was designed in 1938 as an all metal low-wing monoplane stressed for catapult launching. It had a crew of three: instructor, trainer and radio operator/navigator. Technically a success, production was cancelled when the specs for the floatplane trainer were changed. V1 and V2 did enter Luftwaffe service as trainers. Quality high-definition cast resin kit. After the success of the joining of two He-111 to make the He-111Z as a glider tug for Me-321 gliders, the Messerschmitt design staff thought to join two Bf-109 airframes in a similar configuration. The idea was produce a long range heavy fighter using existing components that would not interfere with production. Four models were planed, but Allied bombing raids destroyed the prototype before it could be test flown. In 1944 the idea was put on hold due to the promise of the new jets such as the Me-262.
