Still factory sealed and from 1992. The DO-X was a famous German Flying Boat built in 1929. Dornier dreamed that this huge aircraft would become a trans-oceanic airliner with passengers traveling in ocean liner-like luxury. A tour of South and North American was conducted, but orders never materialized due to excessive fuel consumption and a lack of power. Total load was 170 passengers and crew, and the 12 engines developed 7200 HP. This is a very well detailed model and more than likely from the high-quality Otaki molds..

Hampdens, along with Whitley and Wellingtons, formed the RAF's Heavy Bomber force at the outbreak of WWII. Dusty Rhodes provided more information on the box art aircraft - Hampden AE240 took off from RAF Scampton at 1443 hours on the 12th February 1942, detailed to attack the German battleships Scharnhorst and Gneisenau in the English Channel. Nothing was heard from the aircraft after take off and the aircraft and crew disappeared without trace. The Squadron lost 4 aircraft on this mission.

Purchased new in 1965 in Cleveland, Ohio. Quality Frog kit - no rivets, just fine panel lines for a realistic model. Features separately molded rudder, elevator and ailerons, pilot and gunner figure and detailed engines with rotating propellers. Inventoried and NOTE: missing one part, a main gear door. Otherwise includes all other parts, decals and instructions. This box has some of my favorite Jo Kotula boxart. Kotula originally did 1930s covers for the magazine 'Model Airplane News' and later the Aurora box art of the late 1950s. Air Lines kits are all Frog molds that the Lines Brothers imported to the USA between 1964-1966. The kits, decals and instructions were made in England, then imported to the USA where Testors created the boxes with the colorful trading cards on the back. There are one or two trading cards on each box which show the boxart but not the advertising/logo. Some kits contain a Testors color painting guide also, but it is not specific to any model.

In the 1970s, MPC released the popular Profile Series. These were well detailed kits for that time from Airfix molds. Features wings that swing, moving elevators, removable crew escape pod, optional position landing gear and more. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. US Navy F-111 markings are hard to come by; fortunately, these decals are in 'near mint+' condition which is rare. The MPC decals from this era often suffer from peeling.
