This is a large, well detailed model for that time and features a 18 inch rotor span, detailed Lycoming T53 Jet Engine with removable cowling, highly detailed interior and cockpit with opening cabin doors, moving rotors and weapons system with SS-11 Missiles, M-6 Machine Guns, 7.62 MM Machine Guns and M-6 Guns with Rocket Pods. This famous German Flying Boat was built in 1929. Dornier dreamed that this huge aircraft would become a trans-oceanic airliner with passengers traveling in ocean liner-like luxury. A tour of South and North American was conducted, but orders never materialized due to excessive fuel consumption and a lack of power. Total load was 170 passengers and crew, and the 12 engines developed 7200 HP. This is a very nicely detailed model with 121 pieces. Never started.
