Excellent model from 2000 that builds the skeletal inner structure of a Nieuport 28. Features over 190 laser cut hardwood (basswood, birch and plywood) parts, over 200 Britannia metal, copper, aluminum, steel, brass and rubber parts and over 50 Britannia metal castings for the Gnome-Rhone Type 9N rotary engine complete with all cylinders, distributor, spark plugs and crankcase. Details other than the engine (which is a kit to itself) include turnbuckles, guy wires, compression bar, pulleys, wire support brackets, struts, flight instruments, tires and much more. Includes three sheets of full size plans and very detailed instructions. Completed wingspan is 20 inches. Never started. As big as an aircraft, the Kometa-20 (K-20) was one of the first airborne strategic missile systems. Due to it's range (600km, but with the range of the Tu-95 that carried it, add 6400 km to that), high speed (mach 2) and massive size (which held the big 5,000 lb 37D three-megaton thermonuclear warhead), the Kangaroo was a real threat, especially in the early Cold War years. AS-3s were replaced in the 1980s by the new K-22 system. This model is perfect for a 1/72 airbase diorama. This model is a very highly detailed waterline kit and probably the finest 1/700 Borodino ever available. Features superb cast resin hull, turrets, funnels & other larger parts, two large frets of PE parts & one smaller fret, turned brass gun barrels and more. The brass photoetched parts are exceptional and constitute a great deal of the kit including upper decks, railings, davits, ladder and much more. Also includes brass stock for masts and yards. Borodino was the lead ship of her class of five pre-dreadnought battleships built for the Imperial Russian Navy in the first decade of the twentieth century. Completed after the beginning of the Russo-Japanese War in 1904, Borodino was assigned to the Second Pacific Squadron that was sent to the Far East a few months after her completion to break the Japanese blockade of Port Arthur. The Japanese captured the port while the squadron was in transit and their destination was changed to Vladivostok. The ship was sunk during the Battle of Tsushima in May 1905 due to explosions set off by a Japanese shell hitting a magazine. There was only a single survivor from her crew of 855 officers and enlisted men.
