This is the original late 1950s issue with fantastic Ray Gaedke box art and a fine kit for that time. In 1931, Post and Gatty flew the Vega 'Winnie Mae' around the world in 8 days, 15 hours and 8 minutes for a new world record. In 1933 Post tested a gyroscope automatic pilot and radio direction finder in another record flight lasting 7 days, 18 hours and 45 minutes. This aircraft is now in the Smithsonian Museum. the Lockheed Vega did see military service, with a few operated by the RAAF, Spanish Republic Air Force and USAAC. This model features moving control surfaces, cockpit detail, rotating propeller and wheels and more. Includes a clear display stand and very colorful and complete Winnie Mae decals. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

This model includes optional parts (different vertical & horizontal stabilizers) and decals to build any of the four prototypes. Well molded with all recess panel line detail, 'good' cockpit, pilot figure, injection molded canopy, full landing gear and more. When the Me-209 was dismissed as the 109s successor, design work began on the 309. It was intended to be a high speed, long range heavy attack fighter with an ejection seat and pressurized cockpit. Four were built, but the RLM never assigned any priority to the project. By that time, the jet-powered Me-262 showed more promise and work on the 309 was stopped.

Beautiful box art shows a colorful pre-war 'Yellow Wing' PBY rescuing a downed pilot. This kit is dated 1962 but this is release is from about 1964 due to not having 'Famous Fighters' in the logo. The box is in excellent condition with as new color and gloss, four solid corners and no sign of price tags or tape. There is very light wear as shown and slight sun fading on the left short side. The model features retracting pontoons, nose and main landing gear (this is the amphibious version), clear cockpit windshield, turret, side windows and rear blisters and rotating propellers. This version has the desirable large clear two-piece 'World Map' stand. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.
