Three RWD-6 aircraft were built in 1932 for International Competition. The aircraft won in their class and it was the first international aerospace win for Poland. This model features fine molds, good detail, full cockpit, optional parts for BIS or RWD-6 variants and decals for two aircraft that flew in the competition, SP-AHL and SP-AHN. UPC release from Lindberg molds. Features rockets and drop tanks, detailed engine, opening engine access panel, opening canopy, pilot figure, moving ailerons & rudder and more. Never started. The small parts are still in the factory sealed bag; the parts that were not sealed have been inventoried complete and includes decals and instructions. UPC stood for Universal Powermaster Corporation which was based out of New York City, NY. UPC did not cut their own molds, but bought kits already molded from other manufacturers and re-boxed the kits in the USA. Scott Eidson, the famous artist best known for his artwork with Revell, also did UPC box art in the 1960s. All UPC production ended in the 1970s.

The Gamma was designed by John Northrop and was considered very advanced in 1933. The airplane was an instant success. Texaco took delivery of the first one and set numerous cross-country speed records, in addition to being a crowd favorite at air shows. Dr. Lincoln Ellsworth used a Gamma in 1935 for a successful Trans-Antarctic Flight in the 'Polar Star'. This aircraft now rests in the Smithsonian. Gammas were also flown by Howard Hughes and Jacqueline Cochran. The model is very nicely molded and detailed and can build one of two versions of the Sky Chief (Phase I or III) or one of two versions of the Polar Star (Phase I or II)and includes all optional parts required to do so including two different engines, cowlings, nose sections, two and three blade propellers, canopies, one and two seat cockpits and tail wheels as required. Includes an extensive Micro-Scale color decal sheet for two versions each of the Polar Star and Sky Chief. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The decals and instructions have no stains and are in 'near mint' condition. The box top has a stain as shown in the photo.

This is an excellent model that is well detailed for that time and features featuring full hull (not waterline), detailed deck and superstructure, full sensor suite, separately molded and moving main armament, Terrier missiles, launcher and directors and much more. The Darracq was designed and built when France was the international center of motor vehicle excellence. While Britain, American and Germany either rejected the motorcar, showed indifference or activly fought to eliminate it, the French accepted it with open arms. As a result, the Darracq and other fine designs were the best automobiles in the world. The model is from 1975 and is a nicely molded kit of this successful early gasoline powered automobile.
