Plastic Model Kit, Box Condition: VG+
$85
1954 Pre-S release. The Pre-S and S kits are considered the apex of model kit box art and it is easy to see why these kits are so desired and collectible. Molded in the original gloss silver and clear and includes the clear 'Revelving Swivel Base' display stand. Inside, everything is exactly as it left the factory. The small parts are still in the original sealed bag and the larger parts that were never sealed have been inventoried complete. Includes decals and instructions both in 'excellent+' condition. The box would grade higher than 'very good+' but there is one tiny closed pencil-point sized hole at the far right (lower) side and two same size closed holes on the short right panel.

1954 Pre-'S' release and among Revell's very earliest ship models. This issue is the 'all gun' version of the Fletcher with the maximum main armament; Revell soon modified the molds to represent the later ships of the class. The beautiful boxart has wear as shown. The kit has never been started. Inventoried and it includes all plastic parts, color flag sheet and instructions. NOTE: the small 'Parts Order Form' has been cut from the instructions. This does not interfere with assembly. NOTE: missing decals.

Rare 1955 Revell model with the great box artwork that has made these kits so famous and collectible. This large-scale model features excellent detail for that time and almost all items shown in the box art - railings, grates, name boards, navigation lights, vents, whistles, bumpers, bitts and even two crew members. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The box rates only 'very good' because it has isolated and light age spotting as shown. The Long Beach was built in Decatur, Alabama in 1943 and was one of a fleet of tugs operated by the Wilmington Transportation Company. She had a registered length of 81.1 feet and a beam of 24 feet. Gross tonnage was 146 inches and she drew 8 feet of water. Powered by a 700 hp diesel, the range was just over 3,500 miles.

Second issue dated 1954 with hardbox Pre-S artwork of 'Buffalo Bill' by Richard Kishady. Molded in the correct high-gloss medium olive drab and clear plastic and includes the famous clear Revell Swivel Display Stand. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. First issue from 1958. From the stunning artwork on this kit, it is clear to see why these models are considered the pinnacle of box art and why they are so collectible today. This is a finely molded and well detailed kit for that time and features removable canopy and detailed engine, pilot figure, landing gear and retractable landing skid, movable control surfaces & dive brakes and more. Includes Revell's famous round-based 'Globe' swivel stand, a separate, full size color and marking sheet with four views; there is even an excellent history of the aircraft. Never started. 100% inventoried complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. The box displays better than the rating, but that is because there is some minor litho chipping and moderate edge wear, especially on the left side corners.

Very, very rare, complete and 100% correct. The Pan Am Airport Scene was commissioned by Pan Am in the late 1950s and only sold through the airline, not through Revell distributors. This has made it one of the rarest Revell kits in existence. It is widely considered an 'S' kit since it was made at that time and features that style of artwork, but the box never had the yellow 'S' anywhere on it. It contains all the parts and markings listed in the title and makes an incredible airport diorama. The box has excellent color and gloss with no tears or stains. Three corners are solid - the other has been repaired very neatly with clear tape. There is general wear as shown but no other damage. Inside, the parts are as new. All pieces are in the correct gloss silver plastic with the clear Revell 'Swivel Base Display Stand.' The airport accessories are still sealed in the original factory bag, including the metal axles. The unique decal sheet for this special issue is intact, never cut and in 'good' condition. It contains Pan Am DC-7 decals and markings for the ground equipment. The decals are flat but have some yellowing and two creases. On the back they have the correct Revell markings and part number to be original for this model. The instructions are 100% correct and original for this model. They are in 'very good+' condition with the usual yellowing, two very small thin spots and one very light stain. In all, an excellent investment piece that has never been started with the airport parts bag sealed and otherwise inventoried complete with the correct decals and instructions. Please note that Revell did NOT issue this kit with paper 'carpet' like the United Airlines Flight 707 Airport Scene. The 'carpet' has been intentionally de-listed from the area of the box that describes the contents and has been removed from the instructions as well. Although this kit does not have an 'S' on it, I have included it as an 'S' kit since it is from that time frame and shares the common box art theme.

1960 'S' issue with fantastic box artwork. Revell brought new life to the original F-104 molds by including four then-new AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles, missile ground trailer and ground crew. The box has like-new color and gloss, four solid corners and no tape or price tags or residue; this box even skipped the original factory sealing tape machine! There is light edge wear, a short 3/4 inch crease (not even visible in the photo) and a very small 'ding' on the right short side. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

First issue with great "S" artwork. Dated 1956. The box is in amazing condition with perfect color and gloss.
