1978 issue after Aurora went out of business and Monogram bought their molds. Monogram only reissued Aurora's best and most commercially viable kits and the 727 was one of the few that made the cut. In this case, they saw the molds could be improve, and the result is a much better & accurate kit and the best 'short' body 727 available in near 1/100 scale. Monogram added a network of very fine raised panel lines to the fuselage (the original had no panel lines), filled the deep e-doors over the wings and made them fine raised also, added wing fences & fine raised panel lines to the wings, added flap hinges to the wing undersides and added fine raised panel lines to the horizontal stabilizers.
