P.1101/I and /II were Messerschmitt's entry into the Emergency Fighter Competition. This program was initiated when the Luftwaffe saw they had no counter to massed formations of B-29s, which they knew would arrive if the war did not end soon.

Limited issue injection-molded model kit with all fine recessed surface detail and a resin cockpit. There are only two injection molded XP-77s in this scale and this one is the best by far. Never started. Factory sealed parts bag with decals and instructions. The XP-77 was Bell's response to a possible shortage of light alloys after the war in the Pacific broke out in 1941. The P-77 had an estimated top speed of 410 mph with two 20mm cannons and two .50 caliber machine guns but weighed only 3,700 lbs due to wood construction. Production of 25 aircraft was authorized on May 16, 1942, but lack of superchargers reduced this order to 6. By the time the aircraft flew on April 1, 1944, the shortage of light metals had never been a major issue and other types offered superior performance.

Starting life as simply an improved P-38, the design requirements changed from single engine pursuit to double seat attacker, then to bomber, and finally as bomber destroyer. This an other issues created a 4 year development, and by then there was no need for a piston-engined bomber destroyer. Top speed was 436 MPH with 2 Allison V-3420-11/13 Turbocharged engine. Very highly detailed resin kit. Still internally sealed. Complete with decals and instructions.

Includes markings for two aircraft: the one on the box and a colorful red rudder/float/wing J2F-6 based at Kearney Air Base, Nebraska in 1948 that operated in Arctic rescue duty. The amazing Duck first flew in 1934, saw service all through WWII and was not phased out until the mid 1950s.

The Go-145 is one of the most successful aircraft designs in the history of aviation. Over 12000 were built in Germany, Turkey and Spain. The design was rugged, easy to build and simple to maintain. It saw service as a trainer for radio, aerobatics, gunnery, photo recon and instrument training. It also saw combat service from 1942 on as a night bomber. Model builds any of three versions - two seater with gunnery position / Multi-role night intruder / two seater with enclosed canopy and spatted wheels. Never started.
