Very high quality vacuform kit of this 2000+ mph aircraft from 1956. The kit is part number coded as 1/48 scale, however, it says 1/40 scale in the instructions, so I am not certain which one it is. Still factory sealed and from 1979. When Monogram bought the Aurora molds in the mid 1970s, they only reissued the kits that were the most accurate. Since Aurora had reworked the molds on the SE5 and greatly improved the kit, it was one that was chosen. Monogram made additional improvements to the molds and expanded the decal sheet, so this builds into a very nice model.

Has markings for Luftwaffe 2nd Staffel Jagdgeschwader 71 'Richthofen' 1958 or Marine 51st Sq, John Glenn's aircraft from 1953. NOTE: this kit has minor and very neat sub-assembly as follows: intake halves; wing halves. There is no other assembly. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts including decals and instructions.

1995 reissue from the original 1960s molds and a perfect 'Classic Builder.' Features stock or supercharged engine, detailed engine bay, opening hood, full interior, numerous custom parts, wild custom front and rear end treatments, accessories and more. Molded in gray, clear, red-tinted clear, beautiful chrome and with rubber tires. The kit has never been started. The parts that were factory sealed are still in the sealed clear bag; the others were never sealed and have been inventoried complete with instructions. I cannot find any information about decals coming with this kit, and none are present. As this is the reissue, there is a sign on the bottom that says that the putty, sandpaper and 'upholstery ' material were not included either.
