Revell Convair F-106A Delta Dart Whip Fly - With Whistle and Streamers - (F-106), 1/67, H159-129

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Convair F-106A Delta Dart Whip Fly - With Whistle and Streamers - (F-106)

$119

Rare. 1961 issue in the Whip Fly 'Master Modeler' series. Does include the Master Modeler Trading Stamp (for the Competition Corvette) and MM application form. This series was quickly discontinued when it discovered that heavily weighted models with pointed front ends swinging at terrific speeds around young children might not be safe. Based on the 1950s F-106 "S" kit, the Delta Dart Whip Fly comes with USAF decals, flight ballast, handle, 12 feet of control line, control ring, colorful streamers (cut from the colored bag according to the instructions) for the jet engines and a underside pod which is a in-flight whistle! Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Sanwa Boeing B-29 Superfortress, 1/208, 134

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG++

Boeing B-29 Superfortress

$145

Very Rare. Early, colorful issue from the late 1950s. The kit is dated by the 'Sanwa Plastic' logo, which was normally used in the late 1950s up to 1960. Very nicely detailed for that time with raised (and sparse, not overdone) surface detail, opening bomb bay doors for fore and aft bomb bays, bomb load, working ailerons, wing flaps, elevators and rudder, rotating propellers and full landing gear. Molded in gloss silver, black and clear. Includes factory glue tube. Inside, the model is factory new - all the parts and decals are still in the factory sealed clear bags. The decals are flat and in 'Very good++' condition with yellowing being the only flaw and the instructions in 'very good+' condition with age foxing and slight yellowing as the only flaws. Sanwa was one of Japan's earliest post-WWII kit producers, making model kits in the 1950s; some sources say 1955. Kits were marketed under Sanwa and Tokyo Plamo, with the general consensus being the the later logo came out around 1960 or later. Production ended in 1964, making all Sanwa kits rare and collectible. The entire line was extensive. It included very small scale tanks (some that were motorized), battleships in three scales with the larger ones motorized with dual prop drive, slot cars, civil sport boats and an electric outboard, a full line of hand gun models that actually shot plastic bullets, two fighter groups and bomber groups (probably Monogram), several different lines of scale aircraft, missile kits, scale (static) car models of early Japanese automobiles, at least 7 flying model aircraft that had electric and rubber motors, a 'Super Control Stand' P-51 that moved with a joystick and had an electric propeller and sound unit, two different lighthouses and a windmill, an air cushion boat, motor cycles, a diving submarine (electric) and a working (rubber band) George Washington Class SSBN and even a garden tractor with an electric motor. Just before going out of business, Sanwa issued some kits in conjunction with the 1964 Tokyo Olympic games - these kits even included a copy of an Olympic medal.

Aurora Convair VR XFY-1 Pogo, 1/48, 60

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG++

Convair VR XFY-1 Pogo

$155

1955 hardbox design. Please note the early Aurora rectangular logo, which was used from about 1953 to 1955. However, the factory has blacked out all the price extensions, so this one may be from around 1957/58. Rare, large scale model features working counter-rotating props and is molded in gloss silver and clear. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

The Barnstormers Customizing Kit DH-4 and JN-4 Jenny

$164

Rare one-and-only 1960 issue that contains both the DH-4 and Curtis JN-4 Jenny. Aurora really went out of the way to make this a special kit; however, it did not sell well and was retired after one year. Features completely new box artwork, a DH-4 molded in gloss dark green and black, the JN-4 molded in gloss bright yellow and black, great custom decal sheets for both aircraft and special 'Barnstormer' instructions for each aircraft. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts present and includes decals and instructions. Instructions are both in 'excellent+' condition and the decal sheets are both completely flat (no rolling) with typical age yellowing as the only flaw.

Revell B-36 Giant Bomber - True First Issue Pre 'S' With One Piece Stand Arm, 1/184, H205-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

$275

Very rare 1954 true first issue, narrow height Pre 'S' box with full background artwork. It is molded in gloss silver and clear plastic and has the early one-piece stand arm (three prongs at the top) and correct instructions showing that stand. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. It even has the original 'Thick Paper Towel' packing material that Revell used for a short time. One prop blade is neatly broken at the hub but is present so it can be repaired. The Revell B-36 had an interesting early history which took years to unfold. All early issues share the H205-98 part number and are molded in gloss silver and clear plastic. The first issue (this kit) has the full background art and the one piece stand arm (also shown on the instructions). The second issue carries the same full background box art but has the improved two piece stand arm and the instructions that reflect that. This issue also had the two piece stand arm and instructions reflecting that.

Xotic-72 Savoia Marchetti SM-84 Bomber - (AV USK), 1/72, 2025

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

Savoia Marchetti SM-84 Bomber - (AV USK)

$159

Very rare kit from 2006. This is the only model made of this subject. The SM-84 was the replacement for the SM-79. It served well as a level bomber but did best in the intended torpedo role. SM-84s gave the Royal Navy a hard time in the Med, including torpedoing the battleship HMS Nelson. This is a nicely molded, limited-run model with all main injection molded parts and resin engines fronts. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions.

Aurora Nike Hercules Missile - With Launching Platform MIM-14, 1/48, 379-129

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

Nike Hercules Missile - With Launching Platform MIM-14

$325

1958 first and only release. Large 1/48 scale missile includes an elevating launcher, many moving parts and a crew of four. Molded in the correct white and olive drab. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. The decals are in amazing 'near mint' condition and the instructions are 'excellent++.' The Aurora "Missile Line" is legendary. In the late 1950s, the first missile model kits sold briskly, so Aurora and Revell both planned extensive lines. However, the missile modeling craze disappeared as quickly as it started. Models that were in the works were canceled or completed if they were far enough along. Those that were completed, like the Nike Hercules, were fine efforts but sold poorly and had very short lives, making them rare collector items today.

It has been inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. Aurora P-51 Mustang Screwdriver Issue, 1/27, 377-350

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed NM+

P-51 Mustang Screwdriver Issue

$275

Still factory sealed and in remarkable investment-grade 'Near Mint+' condition. The seal is intact. 1969 hardbox issue. This kit was originally designed as a gas powered flying model. However, Aurora discontinued the gas powered line very shortly after introduction due to returns and liability issues. Since the mold investment was already made, Aurora marketed these kits as large scale static models and they became know as "Screwdriver Kits" to collectors. For example, the 1/32 scale B-25 was issued in Gas U-Control and then static - but the P-51 may have only been issued in static.

Inside, all the small parts are still in the factory sealed bag. The larger parts that were never factory sealed have been inventoried complete. Aurora Boeing B-52 Stratofortress - (ex Comet), 1/317, 2494-60

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good++

Boeing B-52 Stratofortress - (ex Comet)

$129

Very rare issue dated 1964. This is the seldom seen Aurora reissue of the Comet kit for the Canadian market only. Several small-scale Comet molds were never reissued for the USA market and for decades I have wondered what happened to them. Aurora had no need for them, as they had already cut their own (superior) small-scale molds for most of those subjects, including the B-52 and B-47. Well, the ex-Comet molds went to Aurora Canada! The small, less detailed Comet kits were issued there using the same box art as their slightly larger and more detailed Aurora counterparts in the USA. Simply looking at the box top, you could not tell the difference. However, the four digit part number gives it away as do the contents. Molded in silver and clear and still retains the original Comet 'teardrop' shaped two-piece stand. Naturally the instructions are completely unique since this is a different kit from the Aurora USA B-52. This kit is 100% correct and has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Revell Merchant Fleet Gift C3 Freighter Hawaiian Pilot / Standard Oil T-2 Tanker J.L. Hanna / Harbor Tug Long Beach, G332-495

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

Merchant Fleet Gift C3 Freighter Hawaiian Pilot / Standard Oil T-2 Tanker J.L. Hanna / Harbor Tug Long Beach

$475

Rare 1956 Revell Gift set containing all three ships and even the unopened tube of colorful Revell "S" cement. This was the first and only issue of this specific gift set and features spectacular special box artwork. The tugboat is 1/108 scale and the tanker and cargo ship are both 1/400. Inside, the kit is 100% correct. The special color cardboard over lay is factory fresh. The tug and C-3 lower hulls are factory painted red (the T-2 was molded in red so it was not painted). Decals are included. The instruction sheets are excellent with the typical yellowing as the only flaw. The three kits have not been started. The tug and freighter still have the small parts in the factory sealed clear bags; the parts that were never sealed have been inventoried complete. The tanker has been inventoried 100% complete. All three kits include decals and instructions. The box has brilliant color and gloss, four solid corners and no repairs. There is no tape, tape marks, price tags or price tag marks. However, there is moderate and light general wear and 'dings' on the two lower corners as shown. Shipping insurance is required with this kit.
