Plastic Model Kit, Box Condition: Exc
$580
Dated 1960. Very rare ICBM and the first and only issue of this incredibly well detailed Revell 'S' kit. The molds were altered to make the Mercury Atlas kit, so reissues are impossible. The box grades 'Excellent' with wonderful color and gloss, four solid corners, no price tags or tag marks, no tape and no tape marks (other than the factory sealing tape, of course). The box has general wear as shown. The kit features elevating missile support arms and hinged break-away supports, complete launching base, ramp and pad, missile truck and trailer that elevates 90 degrees to load missile and crew. Molded in correct white, gray and yellow. Inside, it has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. The decals are 100% intact, flat and in 'excellent' condition with typical light yellowing; the instructions are in 'very good' condition. Shipping insurance is required for this kit. From my friend Stephen Payne, Major, USAF (Ret): The launch pad in both kits used Launch Complex - 14 (also known as Space Launch Complex-14 or "Slic-14") as their example. LC-14 was part of what was known as ICBM Row at Cape Canaveral and originally used to test the Atlas ICBM prior to being converted for the Mercury Space Program (starting with John Glenn's orbital mission). The yellow & white trailers seen here were the gaseous nitrogen tube bank trailers. The nitrogen trailer in both Atlas kits came from the accessories associated with the Revell Thor kit. Having spent 5 years working at the Cape, I passed this site numerous times. Unfortunately, time & the elements have resulted in the removal of all remnants of SLC-14. Only the memorial (with the associated time capsule) remains.

Very rare 1934 'Silver Box' issue. This is a Cleveland 'SF' or 'Scale Flying' model in the agreed museum scale of 1/16. This is the earlier simple cardboard box with the silver printing. All Cleveland kits were exceptionally complete and this one is more so than average exception. Features a sealed envelope of 'Laird Gold' to 'mix with 1 oz of clear D-D-Enamel-Dope', rigging threat, adhesive backed instrument panel, fully formed wooden wheels, propeller hub and thrust button, scale propeller blank or black fibre version, quality printwood, factory-cut stringers and spars, covering material, clear windshield celluloid, other wood and metal stock as required and more. The Cleveland Model and Supply Company played a pivotal role in the development of true scale models. In 1909 Bleriot's English Channel flight caused a surge in aviation and model aircraft around the globe. Several companies were ideally positioned to take advantage of the aviation craze. In the USA, Wading River Manufacturing Co. (1909), White Aeroplane (1911), Ideal Model Aeroplane (1911), Broadfield Model Aeroplanes (1919) were among these pioneers, offering everything from plans and parts to complete kits and ARF models. Lindbergh's 1927 crossing of the Atlantic Ocean caused an even bigger world-wide phenomenon called "The Aviation Craze" that extended up to the start of World War II. Many companies such as Megow, Guillow's and others started right around the time of Lindbergh's flight. Some of these models flew and flew well, but they all had one thing in common - were generally not accurate scale representations. In 1929, a youngster named Ed Packard had a very advanced dream- to produce incredibly accurate, true scale models that flew perfectly. This radical idea established the world's longest running single-owner (77 years) model airplane business- Cleveland Model and Supply Company. To this day, Cleveland models are treasured as the most accurate flying scale models produced. The fact that Mr. Packard started and successfully grew this business during The Great Depression is a testament to his ideals and business skill. I highly suggest the excellent book called 'Aviation's great Recruiter- Cleveland's Ed Packard' by H.L. (Herm) Schreiner. It is an excellent history of the man, his company and the times of the Golden Age of Model Aviation.

Very Rare. From the Strombecker science fiction series released with Disney's famous landmark 'Man in Space' movie series. Decals have a slight curl but otherwise are in amazing 'near mint' condition. The instructions are 'near mint' as well. The box is graded 'excellent' with like-new color and gloss, four solid corners, no repairs, no price tags, no stains & no fading. It displays better than 'excellent' but is rated as such because there is a light crease at the top center and clear tape residue on the long sides. The Bushmaster Protected Mobility Vehicle or Infantry Mobility Vehicle is an Australian-built wheeled armoured vehicle. It was originally designed by Irish company Timoney Technology Ltd under a license agreement with Perry Engineering in Adelaide; that license was sold, with permission granted by Timoney as required by the license terms, to Thales Australia. Once the Bushmaster was selected by the Australian Army after trials in 1998 to meet the Bushranger project requirements, the range of variants was developed further by Thales Australia in Bendigo. Oshkosh Truck has a contract to provide support and would manufacture in the US if there was an American order. The Bushmaster is currently in service with the Australian Army, Royal Australian Air Force, Royal Netherlands Army and British Army. There are at least six major variants of this vehicle and it has seen quite a bit of use in Afghanistan.

Very rare original issue and extremely hard-to-find in factory sealed condition. This is the late 1950s issue and not the common modern reissue. The wheels roll, tractors can be hooked to the cannon which can be stowed in the 'travel' position. The gun can move into the 'fire' position off the tractors and can be realistically trained.

Still factory sealed and very rare in this condition. The long, low lines and graceful fins stretching from the "A" pillar to the taillights made for a beautiful Desoto. Sales in 1960 lagged, however. It was not that the car was bad - the cars were reliable and stunning performers. Desoto was more the victim of corporate political infighting than anything else. The 1960s were the last full line, with a brief introduction of two Desoto Automobiles in 1961. Since Desoto cars were still in demand, some dealerships even sued the Chrysler Corporation for discontinuing the line. This model is very well molded and detailed. It features full engine & detailed compartment, opening hood, complete interior, spotlight, gearshift/turn signal/tach assembly, seat belts, side view mirrors and more. Molded in colored plastic (the color varies kit to kit), clear, red-tinted clear, chrome plate parts and rubber tires.
