Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good++

$59

First issue hardbox is dated 1957 with great Jo Kotula artwork. Please note the 69 cent price extension and oval 'Famous Fighters' sunburst logo. This is part of a popular and very successful series of 1/48 scale WWI aircraft that Aurora started in 1956 and added to well into the 1960s. Many of the line were in production right up until the demise of Aurora in the mid 1970s Molded in correct high-gloss olive drab and black plastic. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

Aurora Boeing KC-135 Jet Stratotanker, 1/125, 143-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good++

Dated 1963 and from ex-Comet molds. This is the largest of the two Comet molds and has cockpit and cabin clear windows and full landing gear. Molded in gloss gray and clear. This model was given a clear Aurora two piece 'triangle world' stand, unlike many of the other Comet kits which only had a modified version of their original stands included. Of course this is not the production KC-135 but a model of the Boeing prototype with USAF decals. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Aurora Voodoo F-101, 1/136, 294-50

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM

$65

1958 dated hardbox that is in exceptional 'Near Mint' condition. It would have graded nearly mint, but there is a '40' in black ink written on the right short side when the kit was marked down to this new price. Molded in silver and clear with full landing gear, display stand and decals for 'FB-419.' The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Around this time, Aurora issued a series of inexpensive (usually 29 cent) small scale kits that were designed to sell at almost any type of retail location. The line was successful and further expanded - when Aurora purchased the Comet molds, they fit in nicely with this established line.

$89

First issue from the early 1950s. Rare, big 1/48 scale kit. Please note the early Aurora rectangular logo, which was used from about 1953 to 1955. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including 'excellent' condition, flat decals and instructions and even includes the original factory tissue paper. NOTE: although the kit is complete, 1/8 inch (.31cm) of one-half of a tip tank is gone - it either broke off or was short shot.

Aurora Russian Mig-19, 1/48, 66-100

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Mint

$185

Very rare model in incredible, investment-grade 'Mint' box condition. The original owner very carefully opened the model but left the shrink wrap protecting the box top and four sides. It is in remarkable condition; there is no more wear than it left the assembly line with. Dated 1958 with fantastic Jo Kotula artwork; however the lack of 'Famous Fighters' in the oval boarder logo means that it is closer to the early 1960s. The model inside is molded in a wonderful gloss dark green and clear. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Instructions and decals are 'near mint' with slight yellowing as the only significant flaw.

Aurora SE-5 Scout, 1/48, 103-69

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$55

First issue from 1956 with Northern Lights logo. This logo only appeared for one year. In 1957 it was replaced with the famous oval 'Famous Fighters' Sunburst logo. The artwork is by Jim Cox. This kit was one of a very famous line of 1/48 scale WWI aircraft kits introduced by Aurora at this time. Due to the popularity, subjects were still being released into the 1960s. Molded in glossy olive green and black. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

Aurora Boeing B-29 Superfortress, 1/76, 372-249

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc++

$159

Rare 1960s issue retaining the same artwork as the 1956 issue. The hardbox is in amazing 'Excellent++' condition which is rare. This kit has arguably the most dramatic and fanciful B-29 artwork from the 'Golden Era' of modeling. Never started. Inventoried an the actual aircraft is complete with the decals and instructions but NOTE: missing the display stand. Responding to market information that boys wanted larger kits, Aurora introduced the B-26 followed by the B-29 and B-25, all of which sold well for many years. This is likely the 4th issue. I believe the 3rd issue is almost identical but has "Famous Fighters" in the oval logo. That would date this kit as 1963 and up till the 'Big A' box issue. Note the square 'Northern Lights' logo has been replaced with the Aurora sunburst oval logo.

The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

Aurora Lockheed F-104 Starfighter - (ex Comet), 1/110, 291-60

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

$79

Very rare 1964 Aurora of Canada hardbox issue of the ex-Comet kit. Several small-scale Comet molds (including the F-104, B-47 and B-52) were never reissued for the USA market and for decades I have wondered what happened to them. Aurora had no need for them, as they had already cut their own (superior) small-scale molds for those subjects. Well, the ex-Comet molds went to Aurora of Canada! The slightly less detailed Comet kits were issued there using the same box art as their slightly more detailed Aurora USA counterparts. Simply looking at the box top, you could not tell the difference. However, the contents and instructions gives the secret away. Molded in silver and clear and still retains the original Comet 'teardrop' shaped two-piece stand. Naturally the instructions are completely unique since this is a completely different kit from the Aurora USA Starfighter. This model is 100% correct and has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. This model is part of a very successful 1/48 scale WWI series that Aurora started in 1956. They sold so well that they introduced new kits almost annually well into the 1960s. Some sold well right up until the end of Aurora in the mid 1970s.

It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.
