1967 Pyro issue from original molds. In the early to mid 1960s the Pyro company chose many of their kit subjects based more on historical significance than popularity. Luckily for us, Pyro not only made these kits but did an excellent job for the time. The Pyro car models are based on the actual cars that Pyro engineers and designers had access to. Features detailed chassis, complete motor and interior and a removable hood. Molded in green, clear, plastic that is a brass color and with rubber tires. The kit has never been started. Rare 1/48 scale model of the seldom-seen Super Cruiser. This kit is from the 1950s. StromBecker was famous for this line of precarved hardwood kits. The parts are all top-quality hardwood - no balsa. Builds to an impressive display model. Features a completely carved hardwood fuselage and wing, hardwood die-cut horizontal and vertical stabilizers, sanding stick, sandpaper, Casco Casein Glue in a sealed envelope, decals and full instructions. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Before plastic kits were introduced, Strombecker was famous as the premier hardwood preshaped model manufacturer. In the 1940s and 1950s, Strombecker kits were flawlessly engineered but not inexpensive. All wooden parts are hardwood and are precarved to shape - you only had to glue, sand and paint to finish them.

Still factory sealed and a very rare kit from the late 1950s that has fantastic Ray Gaedke artwork of a beach landing scene. For some reason this kit almost never shows up and was issued only once or twice. Why is did not stay in the lineup is a mystery; perhaps the molds were damaged beyond repair. The model is large scale and well detailed for that time. The Cellovision box is in 'excellent' condition which is most unusual. These are thin and frail boxes which are easily damaged. This one has like-new color and gloss, no crushing or creasing, an intact plastic window still securely glued into place and all short end flaps in place and factory glued shut. The trading card on the back is in very good condition as well. Flaws include light age spotting, light general wear and a very small 1/2" x 3/8" litho tear on the back near the right short side.

Rare kit in large scale of the world's first jet airliner. The initial Comet Is were in operation long before the 707, which gave the British an incredible post-war lead in the expanding civil aviation market. Just as the Comet was flying high and orders were pouring in from around the world, Comets began to mysteriously fall out of the sky. Everything from lighting to terrorist bombs were blamed. For months the root cause went undiscovered. Then, in a landmark investigation that is considered the first modern post-crash autopsy, it was discovered that the stresses around a small ADF window on the top of the fuselage were causing metal fatigue failure when the fuselage was pressurized. To confirm this, a Comet I was placed in a water tank and subjected to pressurization stresses. After some time, a dramatic failure occured. Then parts of a crashed Comet were pulled from underwater proving once and for all that this was the root cause. Never started. Factory sealed bag or inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

This kit came from the collection of one of Monogram's finest and talented designers, the man who created the original B-52 kit, B-17, B-24J, at least one if not all of the 1/8 scale Ford cars, A-1E Skyraider and numerous other famous kits. First issue from 1967 is very finely molded and famous for it's perfect fit, finish and scale fidelity. It has never been started. The model is inventoried with all parts and photocopied instruction present. NOTE: missing decals and the instructions are high-quality photocopies. The Hawk P-36A has the dubious distinction of fighting on both sides and for more countries than any other plane in history during the opening years of WWII. This Hawk, one in a long progression of famous fighter aircraft, was the winner of a 1935 competition. The USAA Corps received the first aircraft in April of 1938 and the French ordered 100 aircraft in May of the same year. French Hawks shot down just over 30 German planes during the battle for France. The Germans captured the aircraft and sold them to Finland. Others were captured when the Germans overran Norway. In all over 800 Hawks were produced and served in China, Netherlands East Indies, Portugal, Great Britain, Thailand, Argentina and Peru. Although an excellent fighter in 1935, the Hawk was outclassed by the time the war started but when flown properly still gave a good account of itself.

Fantastic kit from the 1950s in an 'excellent' condition box. The classic artwork shows the Nike Ajax blowing up what appears to be a B-17 over an American city. Judging from the fiery blast from the launching Ajax in the background, these two ground crew may not make it away from this missile in time. This is an excellent model for that time that still rates well today. It features detailed missile with separating states, operating control surfaces, operating launcher and more. The launcher is designed to connect other models to form an entire Nike Ajax Battery for the ultimate diorama. Molded in olive drab and white. The model has never been started. The white plastic parts and decals are still factory sealed; the olive drab parts were never sealed and have been inventoried complete and includes decals and instructions.
