This is the only 1/72 injection molded 727 kit ever issued. Very large model with gray and clear plastic parts and many high-definition cast resin details. Monogram Frankenstein Luminators Glow In The Dark - (ex Aurora), 1/8, 1619

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

Sold

Great builder kit dated 1991 and made from the original Aurora molds. In 1977 Monogram purchased the Aurora molds and only reissued the best and most commercially viable models. This monster and others were issued in the early 1990s, probably after re-negotiating the license agreement with Universal (as hinted to on the box side). Molded in a stunning transparent orange glow-in-the-dark plastic and also glows with a black light. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions.

Mirage put out an excellent effort on this detailed kit. Features close to 200 injection molded parts, a large brass fret with many photoetched parts, clear film parts including cockpit instrument faces, extensive decals including two large sheets of the difficult top and side surface mottled pattern and an even larger sheet of markings. Features super detailed engine, a cockpit that is almost a kit unto itself and spectacular instructions in full color that include over two dozen detail photos of the actual aircraft. There is a full color painting guide in all views for two aircraft. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions.

Hudson Miniatures 1914 Stutz Bearcat Old Timers, 1/16

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG++

Sold

Very well detailed large 1/16 kit from 1949. Features plastic wheels, grill, steering wheel, lights and other accessories and wooden and metal main parts. Although all of Hudson's 1/16 kits have excellent detail, this one has even more detail than usual thanks to Hudson's engineers having access to the actual car. The instructions even warn that this kit will take more time than usual due to the 'tedious detail.' This kit has never been started. The small parts are still factory bag sealed; all other parts have been inventoried complete and includes plans and instructions. Hudson Miniatures created a very popular line of automobile kits in a constant 1/16 scale shortly after WWII. The kits sold very well...so well that you could argue that Gowland & Gowland borrowed Hudson's subject matter for their ground-breaking 'Highway Pioneers.' The Hudson Miniatures 'Old Timers' even spawned a line of imitators, with Fador's 'Smallster' being one of the better in quality. Sales did drop on the appearance and popularity of the much smaller (and less accurate) Gowland/Revell 'Highway Pioneers' in 1951. When the all-injection molded Gowland kits proved not to be a passing fad, Hudson quickly planned and released his own all-plastic, small-scale competition called 'Lil' Old Timers Quickie Kits.' The kits were of excellent quality, but it was too little too late. Additionally, sales of the excellent wooden kits faltered further in the next few years with the introduction of accurate, 1/24 and 1/32 all-plastic cars in the mid 1950s. This forced Hudson to discontinue the wood kits and the plastic line was sold to Revell and subsequently re-released. Today, these excellent, big 1/16 kits are often the only model available of these early automobiles. In the mid 1960s Aurora thought so highly of Hudson Miniatures that they purchased the wood kit assets and released a very small number of these in all-plastic models.

Cleveland 1938 Turner-Laird Pesco Special Racer - Balsa Flying Model Airplane Kit, 1/16, SF-72

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

Sold

This is a Cleveland 'SF' or 'Scale Flying' model in museum scale of 1/16. The kit came from a long time collector of 1930s and 1940s models and is in exceptional condition. All Cleveland kits were very complete and this one is no exception. Features very high quality balsa printwood and strip wood, covering material, pre-carved nose, partially machined wheel pants, finished wheels, ready to use prop blades, markings to convert the aircraft to the 1939 race winner, highest quality plans, and more. The model has not been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions. The Cleveland Model and Supply Company played a pivotal role in the development of true scale models. In 1909 Bleriot's English Channel flight caused a surge in aviation and model aircraft around the globe. Several companies were ideally positioned to take advantage of the aviation craze. In the USA, Wading River Manufacturing Co. (1909), White Aeroplane (1911), Ideal Model Aeroplane (1911), Broadfield Model Aeroplanes (1919) were among these pioneers, offering everything from plans and parts to complete kits and ARF models. Lindbergh's 1927 crossing of the Atlantic Ocean caused an even bigger world-wide phenomenon called 'The Aviation Craze' that extended up to the start of World War II. Many companies such as Megow, Guillow's and others started right around the time of Lindbergh's flight. Some of these models flew and flew well, but they all had one thing in common - were generally not accurate scale representations. In 1929, a youngster named Ed Packard had a very advanced dream to produce incredibly accurate, true scale models that flew perfectly. This radical idea established the world's longest operating single-owner model airplane supply business, called Cleveland Model and Supply Company. To this day, Cleveland models are treasured as the most accurate flying scale models produced. The fact that Mr. Packard started and successfully grew this business during The Great Depression is a testament to his ideals and business skill. I highly suggest the excellent book called 'Aviations great Recruiter, Cleveland's Ed Packard' by H.L. (Herm) Schreiner. It is an excellent history of the man, his company and the times of the Golden Age of Model Aviation.

ESCI TWO T34/76 1942 Model / TWO T34/76 1943 Model / Fujimi 1/76 TWO Su-85 / TWO Fujimi 1/76 KV-! Type 1941 / Fujimi 1/76 KV-II Late Type, 1/72, 8032

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

Sold

SALE!! Includes all 10 kits in the five boxes shown. NOTE: Sold AS-IS and not inventoried. This collector was very meticulous and of his kits that I did inventory, 95% are complete. But on these kits he cut the sprue (trees) with the part numbers still attached to each number, so the parts are loose. Because of that, I have not inventoried these kits. NOTE: he built major and minor sub assemblies and some details (turrets, lower tubs, etc) to 'professional' quality. Many of these do have major assembly. Again, these kits are sold not inventoried and AS IS hence the very low price.
