Aurora Japanese Sub I-19, 1/275, 728

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

Sold

1972 'Big A' box issue. Large scale kit is almost 16 inches long when assembled. This is an excellent model from Aurora's efforts of the late 1960s/early 1970s. Aurora knew that the old 1950s kits were outclassed by the late 60s and cut a new series of molds including several ships, helicopters and subs. The result was high mold quality and very good detail for that time, as represented by this kit. Includes large display stand, decals, periscope and cranes, conning tower and deck guns. Never started. NOTE: missing Glen seaplane body (floats are present). Otherwise inventoried with all other parts, decals and instructions present. The I-19 is famous for firing history's most successful torpedo spread off Guadalcanal. On September 14, 1942, the I-19 was patrolling of the Solomons when she fired a 6 torpedo spread. Three hit and sank the US Carrier CV-7 WASP, and the remaining three exploded against the BB North Carolina and the destroyer O'Brien. The destroyer sank and the North Carolina had to be repaired at Pearl till November 16, 1942. The I-19's Glen seaplane also flew night reconnaissance on February 23, 1942 over Pearl Harbor for the planned second attack by Emily flying boats on that base.

Monogram Curtiss P-36A - White Box Issue, 1/72, 6790

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc

Sold

Still factory sealed. 1979 issue is very finely molded and detailed with the quality you expect from Monogram. The Hawk P-36A has the dubious distinction of fighting on both sides and for more countries than any other plane in history during the opening years of WWII. This Hawk, one in a long progression of famous fighter aircraft, was the winner of a 1935 competition. The USAA Corps received the first aircraft in April of 1938 and the French ordered 100 aircraft in May of the same year. French Hawks shot down just over 30 German planes during the battle for France. The Germans captured the aircraft and sold them to Finland. Others were captured when the Germans overran Norway. In all over 800 Hawks were produced and served in China, Netherlands East Indies, Portugal, Great Britain, Thailand, Argentina and Peru. Although an excellent fighter in 1935, the Hawk was outclassed by the time the war started but when flown properly still gave a good account of itself.

Revell TWO F-111 TFX or Navy F-111B, 1/72, H208

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

Sold

SALE!! Includes all 2 kits in the one boxes shown. NOTE: Sold AS-IS and not inventoried. This collector was very meticulous and of his kits that I did inventory, 95% are complete. But on these kits he cut the sprue (trees) with the part numbers still attached to each number, so the parts are loose. Because of that, I have not inventoried these kits. NOTE: he built varous sub assemblies (cockpit tubs, wing halves, etc) to 'professional' quality and did minor painting. Again, these kits are sold not inventoried and AS IS hence the very low price. Kit description: 1969 issue that builds either Air Force F-111A or rare Navy F-111B. Features optional parts for both variants (2 different radar noses, wingspans and elevator spans), operating variable position wings, movable stabilizers, removable nose with detailed radar, fully retractable landing gear and removable crew escape pod.

First issue from 1957 in investment-grade 'Near Mint-' condition. Please note that 108-69 was issued several ways; this one has the blue-tinted box art and medium blue logo border. It has yellow box sides. Please note there is no Parents' Magazine seal. Molded in gloss light gray and black. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. This is part of the famous Aurora WWI series of 1/48 scale aircraft. The series began in 1956 and Aurora added new kits into the early 1960s. The line proved incredibly popular, so some of these kits were included in the 'mold upgrade' in the 1970s before Aurora went out of business in '76.
