First issue hardbox dated 1961. This is part of a tremendously successful Monogram series of 1/48 scale World War II aircraft that several generations built. Has many action features: Folding wings, retractable landing gear, bomb bay opens and bomb drops (after swinging clear of the prop!), rear guns can be stowed or elevated, canopies open and close and the wheels and prop rotate. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried and all plastic parts and the instructions are present. NOTE: missing decals.

Well molded and detailed model for that time featuring detailed cockpit and gear wells and choice of two canopies. The decals are for Col. Howard, who was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. He was an AVG pilot and became the first US pilot to become an ace in both the Pacific and European theaters. His aircraft 'Ding Hao' means 'OK!' in Chinese. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

This high performance follow-up to the F-102 enjoyed a successful and long service life; I can remember seeing them in 'Alert 5' shelters at the Florida Air National Guard base at Jacksonville International in the 1980s.

Scientific's flagship and the largest of their wooden ship models. This was a deluxe kit with a (then) stratospheric price of $16.95. Measures 27.25 inches LOA when assembled and features a precarved balsa hull, real cloth sails, dozens of metal fittings, metal name plate, printwood sheets, full size plans, rigging instructions and diagrams, rigging material, hardwood base, display pedestals, tapered masts and spars, other wood stock, color decals and more. The kit has never been started. The small parts and fittings are still in the internal factory sealed bags and the other parts have been inventoried 100% complete including decals, plans and instructions.

Comet Cloud Buster - 21 inch Wingspan Flying Balsa Airplane Model, 4401

From the 1970s. I can remember that when properly assembled, it flew very well - flights of a minute or more were common, and if you caught a thermal, you never saw your Cloud Buster again! Kit features traditional wood & tissue construction, detailed full size plans, building instructions, quality die-cut printwood, spars and stripwood, wheels and propeller. The model has not been started. NOTE: missing tissue and rubber band. Otherwise inventoried with all other parts present. Comet was a famous manufacturer of stick and tissue flying and static models. In the 1930s Great Depression, they lead the low-priced kit revolution with the "Dime Scale" kits and famous advertisements in Model Airplane News magazine and others. Comet reached its peak in the 1930s when they acquired the services of Carl Goldberg. Goldberg was a highly accomplished modeler with articles in Model Airplane News and famous designs that won him several National level competitions in the 1930s and beyond. (Carl Goldberg went on to found his own company and produced well designed and popular free-flight and RC aircraft). Comet survived the post World War economic slump and continued kit production until they were bought out by long-time competitor Guillow's in 1998.
