On April 9, 1935, this magnificent custom built automobile was delivered to Rudolph Carracciola, the Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix team driver. Rudy, with an impressive win record of 23 wins and 23 second places, had chosen this vehicle for his own personal transportation. Powered by the supercharged 5 liter engine, the large and heavy vehicle was an excellent performer and one of the finest cars of the 1930s. Highly detailed kit with over 150 parts. Builds up a rolling chassis just like the real car. The model is molded in red, black, clear and a large tree of chrome-plated parts. Features steerable wheels, removable boot, highly detailed engine and full chassis, double spare tires, detailed interior, opening hood and chrome spoked wheels. Never started. Inventoried complete with all parts and instructions present.

From 1966. This is one of a wonderful and extensive line of 1/48 car kits from Renwal that include a clear showcase. Perfect as a stand-alone model or for use in 1/48 dioramas and O Scale train layouts. Renwal did an excellent job on engineering and detail with this series. Features full interior, detailed undersides and more. All body and chassis parts are molded in the proper colors as well as clear, chrome and/or brass plated and with rubber tires. There is no painting required. The instructions include a history of the automobile and on the back is a large fold-out full color display (a small poster) of all 23 available cars. Never started. The only large-scale model of the record-setting SS United States from the United States Lines. From ex-ITC / Ideal Molds. Features a 28 inch long one-piece hull, solid hardwood display base and a large decal sheet. The kit has never been started. All the small parts are still in the factory sealed bags. The few larger parts and one tree of medium and small parts that were not internally sealed have been inventoried complete including decals and instructions. The SS United States was the fastest ocean liner ever built; her speed was legendary. She was constructed primarily of welded aluminum to save weight. She handily took the 'Blue Ribband' shortly after entering service.

Still factory sealed but the seal has split. Dated 1987 and still the only large scale P-12 ever produced. Very nicely detailed model that builds into a fine display piece. Features very good cockpit and engine detail, rigging diagram, separately molded upper wing ailerons, bomb load and decals for all aircraft listed. There are additional markings on the decal sheet for additional squadrons, but the instructions do not have a guide for them.

But on these kits he cut the sprue (trees) with the part numbers still attached to each number, so the parts are loose. Because of that, I have not inventoried these kits. NOTE: he built minor sub assemblies (cockpit tubs, wing halves, etc) to 'professional' quality. Again, these kits are sold not inventoried and AS IS hence the very low price.

Orange Series. Very nicely molded kit with fine raised panel detail and no rivets. Features 61 pieces, separately molded ailerons, elevator and rudders as well as optional position landing gear, crew and crew stations and detailed motors. This kit has never been started. Inventoried and the actual aircraft is complete with all parts, decals and instructions. NOTE: missing display stand. Frog is considered the father of injection molded model kits. The Lines Brothers opened Frog in 1932, capitalizing on the fever caused by Lindberg's solo transatlantic flight. Almost overnight the western populations became 'Air-Minded', and anything aviation was in high demand. Frog created a quality line of stick and tissue rubber powered aircraft and gliders as well as innovative ready-to-fly rubber powered aircraft that required no assembly. The box even contained a built-in rubber motor winder and fuselage holder. Model airplane flight competitions were popular in Great Britain, and one category was 'Rise Off the Ground', or ROG. By changing this to 'Flies Right Off the Ground', the FROG name was born. In 1936 Frog created a line of injection molded plastic models, the first such kit line in the world (Hawk sold a line of injection molded aircraft models in 1934 but they were factory assembled and painted). Named 'Penguin' after the bird that does not fly, the kits were innovative beyond the means of production. At a time when models were simply built by wingspan, the Penguin line was a constant 1/72 scale. Furthermore, a large 1/72 Short S.30 Empire class flying boat contained a full interior and lights! A line of accessories such as AA guns, tractors, hanger, ambulance, sound locator, searchlights and lighting kits were quickly added to the line. WWII caused a pause in production. After the war the box color changed from silver to green, and Penguin kits were also marketed in the USA. Production ended in 1950. Frog quickly expanded and released the Red, Blue, Orange, Black, Green, Gold Token, Spin and Comet series as well as Trail Blazers and several others. It is noteworthy that while most manufacturers in the 1940s/50 were making toy-like models, Frog attempted to make very realistic models. For example, 'detailing' kits with excessively large rivets was once very popular. Frog ignored this trend and continued to mold aircraft with fine panel lines and no rivets. As a result, Frog kits can be built into very realistic replicas. Production ended in the late 1970s, but Frog molds are still in use around the world.

Very rare and large 1/8 scale museum quality kit. The three 1/8 aircraft in this series are widely considered to be the finest model aircraft ever produced. This kit duplicates the classic DR-1 using many of the original material in a near perfect representation of the inner structure of the aircraft. There are 857 parts made from die-cut plywood, Japanese cypress, cast soft metal, brass, aluminum, rubber, injection molded plastic and many other materials. The wingspan is 838mm (33 inches) when assembled. The engineering of the kit is world-class right down to the assembly plans. This kit has never been started. Inside, all the special internal boxes and inserts are included and in mint condition. Additionally, the vast majority of the parts are still in the factory sealed bags. The parts that were not sealed have been inventoried 100% complete. Includes all paperwork - illustrated parts list, instructions and three sets of roll-out plans. NOTE: plan set 'B' is in fair condition. It is complete but has wrinkles and some closed tears. Plans 'A' and 'C' are professionally printed copies of original Hasegawa plans from my collection.
