Rare motorized 1st issue in investment-grade 'near mint' condition inside and out. The box has stunning, like-new color and gloss. There is no tape or price tags, and no marks from tags or tape. All four corners are solid and original and there is no fading, torn or missing litho and zero stains. The only flaws are very light wear in a few isolated locations. This is a large motorized kit that sails well. One electric motor drives the ship on a course that you pre-set - figure 8, straight or circle. While sailing at a good rate of speed, the four main turrets slowly swing from port to starboard together and the guns elevate. I remember sailing mine for years before the batteries died in the middle of the lake. There is no assembly. Inside, the kit is in 'factory new' condition and still packed exactly as it left the factory. The gray parts are still wrapped in the factory wrapping paper, while the small metal parts are in the factory sealed clear bag. Inventoried complete with all parts, color flag sheet and instructions.

Rare kit from 1950 that is in amazing condition. This is one of Ideal's rare top of the line ships, the 'flagships' of the line. Measures 18 inches LOA when assembled and features an 80%+ precarved solid wood hull, four large bags of numerous factory-sealed cast metal fittings (well over 100 pieces), realistic deck grate material, seven sheets of quality printwood, other completely precarved and shaped wooden parts, a large sheet of beautiful sail cloth, masts, yards and wood stock in many sizes, running and standing rigging material, full color flag sheet insignia and more. Includes excellent full size plans and instructions which look like they have never been opened. However, since I have seen the plans, I can tell you that they show numerous sectional and detail view of the ship and even a painting guide. There is a separate instruction sheet, which was unusual for Ideal. Inside, this kit is factory-new. The fittings are all sealed in the original clear factory bags, which are neatly stapled to the light blue Ideal 'parts card.' the sail cloth, masts & yards and printwood are all held together by the original factory rubber bands. The hardwood turned mast parts are still sealed in the factory wax paper bag. Even the original (wadded) factory packing paper is present. The box is the finest I have seen, but NOTE that the corners had split; I have correctly repaired them from the inside using cardstock and book binding glue.
