(MPC calls the HMS Ajax Light Cruiser from the Battle of River Plate a 'Destroyer.') Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions. The box displays better than the 'good++' grade but is ranked as such because the small panel with with the 'Golden Opportunity' tokens (on the side) has been neatly cut away.

Revell Clipper Stag Hound - The Largest Merchant Ship of Her Day Master Modelers Club Issue, 1/216, H325-298

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc++

Sold

A rare kit in this condition. 1962 issue with framable box artwork by John Steel. The box is in exceptional 'excellent++' condition with like new color and gloss and four solid corners. Because it is the Master Modelers Club issue, it includes Stag Hound Master Modelers Stamp and two Air Power Series Trading Cards, the C-130 and B-25 'The Flying Dragon.' But the most amazing thing is that it still contains a brand-new, never opened tube of very colorful Revell 'S' cement that is still wrapped in the original factory padded cardboard. The glue is still good since the tube is fully flexible. The actual klit is very well detailed like all early Revell sailing ships. Features a full hull, detailed deck houses and all fittings, detailed masts and bowsprit, premolded ratlines, decals, color flags, rigging material and full rigging instructions. Molded in three colors. The model has not been started. It has been inventoried 100% complete with all parts and paperwork present. The Stag Hound was designed by the famous Donald McKay and was launched on December 7, 1850. She is famous for her great speed and turned a nice profit for her owners. The most notable event was when the Stag Hound was asked to take a copy of President Lincoln's inaugural address to London. During this run, she raced the steamer 'America' and won easily. Shortly after this she was lost off Brazil to a spontaneous combustion of her coal cargo. The crew successfully abandoned ship. The captain was the last to leave. He lowered the American Flag, wrapped it around himself and jumped overboard.
