Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG-

$165

Early issue from about 1954/55 with the rectangular 'Aurora Line' logo and 'Famous Fighters of All Nations.' Retains the Jim Cox box art from original issue. Molded in correct medium gloss blue and clear with clear rectangular stand. This is the issue (likely the first) with landing gear and bombs. The kit has never been started. All parts are still internally sealed in the very rare (for this date) Aurora 'krinkle' plastic bag. Includes decals and instructions.

Aurora Mercedes Benz 300 SL, 1/32, 517-49

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

$59

A very nicely done kit for that time, molded in silver and with real rubber tires. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions.

Rare kit dated 1963 that represents the 1960 final 'Square Bird' design. Can be built stock or custom. Features stock parts with standard hubcaps and full interior (all molded in ivory) and custom version with chrome wheels, chrome front end (grill, bumper and headlights) and chrome rear end (bumper and tail lights) as well as a tonneau cover and huge side fairings molded in black. Aurora British Churchill Tank, 1/48, 315-150

Aurora Russian Mig-19, 1/48, 66-79

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM

$179

Dated 1958 with fantastic Jo Kotula artwork; but the lack of 'Famous Fighters' in the oval boarder logo means that it is closer to the early 1960s. The box is in amazing 'near mint' investment-grade condition with factory-new color and gloss, four solid corners, no creases, price tags or fading and no tape or even tape marks. Molded in a wonderful gloss dark green and clear. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Instructions and decals are 'excellent' and even the original factory tissue packing paper is present.

Aurora North American F-107 Fighter Bomber, 1/114, 295-29

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc++++

$80

Dated 1958 with Jo Kotula box art; this issue is likely from the early to mid 1960s as there is no 'Famous Fighters' in the logo boarder. The box is in fantastic condition with like-new color and gloss, four solid corners, no fading or price tags and the only tape marks are from the factory sealing tape. Molded in silver and clear. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Aurora P-38 Lightning Texas Ranger Noseart, 1/84, 498-49

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

$39

1964 issue hardbox. Earlier issue with 49 cent price extension. This is the kit with the 'Texas Rangers' nose art decal. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

Aurora Grumman F4F Wildcat, 1/65, 497-70

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$45

Second issue - Sunburst oval logo does not have Famous Fighters' in the border. Dated 1962 but is from the mid 1960s. Molded in dark blue and clear. Never started. Inventoried with all parts, decals and instructions present.

Aurora Curtiss Warhawk P-40 Flying Tiger 'Train' Artwork, 1/48, 44-59

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Fair

$150

Very rare. Jim Cox did a few different box art versions of the P-40 for Aurora, and this one is by far the rarest. The box is 100% complete but has serious damage to the top in the form of litho and cardboard tears; for this reason I have grade the box 'fair.' The box topsides and bottom tray are 'very good' to 'excellent.' Inside, the kit is 100% correct. The model has the early one-piece wings, landing gear and bombs for this issue. The clear stand has the rectangle base, and the decals are by Tatem and have no stand decal (that would come later with the new Triangle stand). The instructions have the early WH logo. Decals and instructions are excellent. Molded in gloss olive drab and clear. Never started and complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

Aurora De Havilland Tiger Moth, 1/48, 110-79

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed VG

$75

Still factory sealed but the seal has split on the bottom and left, and the box has damage as shown on the left. First issue dated 1958 with brilliant Jo Kotula box artwork. This was a very nice kit for that time.

Aurora Republic F-105 Thunderchief, 1/78, 123-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Good

$59

Still factory sealed, but please note that that box has a split on the upper left under the seal. Dated 1958 with classic Jo Kotula box art; this issue is probably from the mid 1960s however from the logo variation. This is a rare kit of the prototype Thunderchief, with the long nose probe and early configuration nuclear weapons pod.

Aurora Consolidated PBY-5A Catalina, 1/74, 374-198

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG++

$135

First issue artwork from the early 1950s. Rare. Kit features retracting pontoons and rotating props. Includes correct early logo instructions which show the clear 'Triangle World' stand. That stand is correctly included. This must be one of the first instances of the 'Triangle' stand being used as it is normally associated with oval 'Famous Fighter' logo kits. Molded in gloss silver/gray and clear. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. NOTE: the back half of the pitot tube has broken off and is missing. Only the front part is present. It is interesting to note that the early Aurora PBY issue has at least three small variations to the box top. The very first issue says '1/4 SCALE MODEL' at the top right. Clearly, this kit is not 1/48 scale and someone corrected Aurora. Then the '1/4' was blotted out with a dark blue oval or cicle and '5/32' was added after the word 'SCALE.' it was now correct, but the appearance was not completely professional. On the next box order, they kept the '1/4' blotted out but added a proper looking 5/31" in front of the blot. That is this issue.

Aurora Curtiss Warhawk P-40 Flying Tiger, 1/48, 44-69

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$75

This issue is dated 1957 and has the 'Famous Fighters' sunburst logo and Jo Kotula box art, as well as the Parent's Magazine seal. This is the first issue with this new box art. Molded in gloss olive drab and clear and with the Aurora 'Globe' clear triangle stand. Never started and complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Even the factory tissue packing paper is present in this kit.

Aurora Grumman F4F Wildcat, 1/65, 497-49

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$65

First issue dated 1962. John Steel hardbox artwork. Has 'Famous Fighters in the border of the Aurora Sunburst logo. Molded in correct gloss dark blue and clear. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions.

Aurora Boeing F4B-4 - (F4B4), 1/48, 122-69

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

$45

1958 first issue with fantastic Jo Kotula boxart. This is the Parents' Magazine issue with the seal located in the lower right. In the day this was considered a fine kit and rated highly in reviews. Classic 1930s Navy Biplane Fighter that is still famous for their colorful paint jobs at that that time. Cowl, tail and trim color would vary with the group's Aircraft Carrier (Ranger, Lexington or Saratoga and the aircraft's position in the flight formation. NOTE: has minor assembly. The seat and floor have been neatly glued to the cockpit. Quality of assembly is professional. There is no other assembly and zero painting. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

Aurora SE-5 Scout, 1/48, 103-69

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

$36

First issue from 1956 with Northern Lights logo. This logo only appeared for one year. In 1957 it was replaced with the famous oval 'Famous Fighters' Sunburst logo. The artwork is by Jim Cox. This kit was one of a very famous line of 1/48 scale WWI aircraft kits introduced by Aurora at this time. Due to the popularity, subjects were still being released into the 1960s. Molded in glossy olive green and black. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. NOTE: instructions are date 1956 but have the oval 'Famous Fighters' logo.

Aurora Boeing 747 - Air Canada, 1/156, 391-350

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

$55

Late 1960s or early 1970s Aurora of Canada kit. This is Aurora's near 1/144 scale kit that features full landing gear, large display stand and an extensive Air Canada decal sheet with full red rudders with Maple Leaf logo, fuselage script and logos, glare shield and full side stripes. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. NOTE: the decals have micro-cracked. Please read the article on this website about saving old decals before using these or any older kit decals.

Aurora Japanese Zero, 1/48, 88-100

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Mint

$425

Still factory sealed; there is one small 1/2" split on the upper left edge. Other than that, the seal is intact. Rare kit in investment-grade condition. Dated 1959 but likely from the early 1960s because of the logo variation. Fantastic Mort Kunstler box art. NOTE: this kit must be shipped insured.
