This legendary large-scale operating R/C model by Tamiya is highly detailed and beautifully molded. Features 360 degree servo-controlled turret rotation, servo controlled gun flashing, duralumin chassis, factory assembled metal gear box and large, powerful electric motor, metal suspension, realistic forward, reverse and turning and more. Metal parts include lower hull, inner and outer drive sprockets, idler wheels, idler tension drums, idler arms, wheel shafts, suspension housing, tension shaft, torsion sway bar and dozens and dozens more. Essentially the lower hull, complete fully functioning suspension and drive wheels are metal. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the factory sealed bags. The two very large parts (upper and lower hull) that were never sealed are complete. With decals and instructions. Tamiya did not include the R/C equipment with the kit; it must be purchased separately.

Pit Road/Skywave issue of this highly detailed and finely molded waterline kit. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. The Akashi was the IJN's only purpose-built repair ship. The design is said to have been based on USS Medusa. In her career she repaired dozens of major surface units, including emergency repairs to Shokaku and Zuiho after Santa Cruz, also to Yamato following USS Skate's torpedo attack on that vessel. Akashi was sunk by US carrier aircraft at Palau on March 31, 1944. (Thanks to Dusty Rhodes for that information)

The long, low lines and graceful fins stretching from the "A" pillar to the taillights made for a beautiful Desoto. However, sales lagged for 1960. It was not that the car was bad - the cars were reliable and stunning performers. Desoto was more the victim of corporate political infighting than anything else. The 1960s were the last full line, with a brief introduction of two Desoto Automobiles in 1961. Since Desoto cars were still in demand, some dealerships even sued the Chrysler Corporation for discontinuing the line. This model is very well molded and detailed. It features full engine and detailed compartment, opening hood, full interior, spotlight, gearshift/turn signal/tach assembly, seat belts and side view mirrors. Molded in medium blue (body, interior, etc.), red (chassis, drive train,etc.), clear, red-tinted clear, chrome plate and with rubber tires. Chrome and clear are in 'excellent++' condition. NOTE: this kit has minor, 'professional' quality subassembly as follows: the washer jar, battery and (2) axle guides to the chassis. The chassis is painted to 'excellent' quality. There is no other assembly or painting. Inventoried 100% complete and includes photocopied instructions (the original instructions are missing) Two axle guides are a different color and are from another issue of this same kit.
