Very rare large-scale kit with fascinating operating features. This early 1960s issue has very high gloss box top artwork in 'excellent' condition. Flaws include very light corner creases as shown, some light general wear and a small piece of clear tape on the top long side. The model uses a complex series of 6 cogs and gears with wire springs and twine to make functioning landing gear and speed brakes. When you lower the arresting (tail) hook, the landing gear doors open and the nose and main wheels extend. When you raise the arresting hook, the landing gear retracts and the doors close. Furthermore, when you pull out the parachute release at the tail, the speed brakes lower; when you close it, the speed brakes close. The kit is molded in the correct silver for the airframe, white cogs, gears & pilot, clear two piece opening canopy, real rubber tires and metal springs. There is a large gloss black Heller stand as well. Never started. All of the small parts (white plastic, springs and internal linkage for the operating systems) are still in the factory sealed bag. All other parts are inventoried complete and includes decals and instructions present. Even the original Heller Quality Control paper is present. The instructions are 'excellent.' The decals are flat and intact with the wax covering sheet and 'very good.' The only flaw is the usual age yellowing. Postal insurance is required for this kit.

Rare limited issue. Hardbox is dated 1965 and is in rare 'excellent+' condition. This model was issued as a tie-in promotion with the famous TV show "12 O'Clock High," which centered on the exploits of USAAF B-17s flying over Hitler's Germany. The box top has great color and gloss, four solid corners, no repairs, no price tags or tape (or marks from either). Flaws include very light general wear and a very light and very limited age spotting on two of the sides. It is very difficult to see and you must be looking for it. The model features detailed engine with removable cowling, good cockpit, retractable landing gear and more. Molded in gloss olive drab and clear. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. Rare. Original 'Four Star' issue from 1959. The box has excellent color and gloss, four solid corners, no tape or price tags and no missing or torn litho. Moderate corner wear on the left and minor corner wear on the right are the only flaws. The kit is molded in the correct high gloss dark blue, silver and black. Features driver, Chrysler dummy engine, six carburetors, drag 'slicks' and pin stripe decals. Includes rope guides and motor mount for powered racing. The instructions provide details on attaching the Jet-X unit to the car. The kit has never been started. NOTE: pinstripe decals are present but 'slingshot' and '7' are missing from the decal sheet. All parts have been inventoried complete including instructions and remaining decals.

Very, very rare promotional model, especially in this condition and with the original box. The box is stamped "CORVETTE CONV. 1736 SILVER PEARL." This is a one-owner model that was obtained new on November 5, 1965 in Lexington KY. It has never been displayed and has been stored in the original box and tissue since it left the factory. It is 100% complete and original with zero repairs or touch-ups. The paint and chrome are in factory-new condition. There is zero body warp and the clear is in 'mint' condition. I would grade this one 9.5 out of 10 with 10 flawless. The deduction is because there is a closed split (fits back perfectly) at the drivers side vent frame and the A pillar. Nothing is broken off, and the crack closes perfectly (it is invisible), so this is completely repairable; but I'll leave that to the new owner. Even includes the original factory packing paper. The box is complete with all flaps and solid but has wear as shown and age foxing.

Very rare issue dated 1964. This is the seldom seen Aurora reissue of the Comet kit for the Canadian market only. Several small-scale Comet molds were never reissued for the USA market and for decades I have wondered what happened to them. Aurora had no need for them, as they had already cut their own (superior) small-scale molds for most of those subjects, including the B-52 and B-47. Well, the ex-Comet molds went to Aurora Canada! The small, less detailed Comet kits were issued there using the same box art as their slightly larger and more detailed Aurora counterparts in the USA. Simply looking at the box top, you could not tell the difference. However, the four digit part number gives it away as do the contents. Molded in silver and clear and still retains the original Comet 'teardrop' shaped two-piece stand. Naturally the instructions are completely unique since this is a different kit from the Aurora USA B-52. This kit is 100% correct and has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.
