Modern reissue from the original Pyro very early 1960s model. This was an excellent kit for that time and features full hull, optional position keel, optional position cabin and deck hatch (if you wish to super-detail the insides), full deck fittings, two detailed small boats, railings and life rings, furled sails (as shown on box art) and more. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions. The skipjack 'Carrie Price' is an exact replica of a typical small sailing vessel used along the Chesapeake Bay area to dredge for oysters. The center keel stabilizer could be pulled up for working in very shallow water. Until 1942 sail was the only power permitted for oyster dredging; after 1942 the state passed a law allowing power boats to be used. This lead to almost all the skipjacks being converted to power and having the main mast cut down. Although it's days are past, many yachtsmen restore and sail this beautiful small craft today. Pyro is long gone from the plastic kit market but is famous today for the esoteric collection of kits they produced. Pyro cared little about subject matter popularity but designed kits based on historical significance or local interest. The quality of their kits is generally high. Dated 1978 and a very nice kit for that time and includes decals for three aircraft. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The Pe-2 first appeared in 1941 and was one of the fastest aircraft on the Russian Front. Two 1,100 HP M-105 engines gave it a top speed of 335 miles and she had a range of 1000 miles. Pe-2s served successfully as level bombers, dive bombers, ground attack, reconnaissance and even as fighters if need be. Post war saw use of the Pe-2 in a few Warsaw Pact air forces.

SALE!! Ross Abare issue Gotha in superb 'Excellent' box condition. Mr. Abare, a rare kits dealer in the earliest days (mid 1970s) of kit collecting, contracted with Aurora to produce an exact copy of the original 1958 kit, which was bringing a premium at the time. However, Aurora had the printers use the mid 1960s oval logo without the 'Famous Fighters' in the border- thus forever separating the Abare issue from the original issue. Mr. Abare was reportedly quite upset, as he wanted exact copies. The model is molded in deep burgundy and black plastic just like the 1958 issue. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Rare. The Er-2ON was derived from the Er-2 Long Distance Bomber which was designed by V.G. Ermolayev and first built in Aviation Plant #18 in Voronezh in 1940. Several dozen Er-2s were built before the start of WWII. In 1944 Aviation Plant #39 in Irkutsk mass produced a new version of this aircraft with diesel engines. Pilots like this aircraft for the stability, robust construction and comfortable cockpit. Irkutsk produced 391 of the Er-2 variants between 1944 and 1946. At the end of 1944 the design bureau of P.O. Sukhoy made four aircraft with a comfortable passenger cabin for government officials, and these were called Er-2 ON, which is this model kit. The model features fine recessed surface detail, good cockpit, correct passenger window configuration and more. Never started. This model is from completely new molds and is highly detailed. Includes three large frets of PE details including railings. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. SMS Seydlitz played a very active part in the Kaiser's WWI Navy and has the distinction of being the world's most heavily damaged capital warship to make it home under her own power. German WWI ships were tough to sink, but this has been incorrectly attributed only to the design. Indeed, the designs were effective in resisting catastrophic events (like magazines explosions), but the German damage control training was truly superior and efficient, with an emphasis - above all else - of keeping the ship afloat. While that sounds rather obvious, very often other factors were allowed to interfere. If you have not read the story of this ship's amazing survival, please do. Then follow it up with an equally incredible account of how the incomplete French Battleship Jean Bart escaped from France. The account in "Battleships: Allied Battleship In World War II" by Robert O. Dulin Jr., William H. Garzke Jr. is the best.
