Rare. Tamiya's early armor were the finest works of the mold maker's art and the top of the line issues had push-button remote control and dual electric motor operation. This is one of those kits, featuring factory-assembled, all-metal gear box with two RE-14 electric motors, hand-held remote control, factory wired switch and control unit, metal hardware and a very well detailed model kit of this West German MBT. Small scale ship kit from the Table Top Navy series. Very nicely done kits for their time. Can be built full hull or waterline. Features propeller and shaft detail, separately molded island structure and more. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions. Many of the Pyro kits came from Eagle (then Eaglewall) molds in England. Eaglewall went out of business around 1962 and Pyro acquired at least some of the molds. Pyro reissued some of these kits in the mid 1960s with AJ Rudisill artwork. Evidently the line was successful, as Pyro then cut some of their own molds and expanded the series significantly. The earlier issues have the full color artwork and a three digit part number. Later issues have a 'B' or 'C' in front of the three digit kit number; some have simplified box art that is a modification of the original Rudisill paintings by painting out most of the background. Pyro issued these kits into the late 1960 when Life-Like took over the molds. Some were reissued by Life-Like.

Late 1930s or early 1945 issue. Almost everyone has heard of the Comet flying aircraft kits that boys and men built from stick and tissue, but few know that Comet had a line of ships also. Very nicely done wooden kit that measures 12 inches long when assembled. The hull had been very neatly factory machine cut to the overhead (beam) dimensions only. Also includes two sheets of printwood, solid, long balsa blocks for the superstructure, mast and gun barrel material, rigging material, decals and full size plans. The plans are superior to most ship plans of the day with 3 hull sections, full size top and side drawings, illustrated instructions and a very large number of detail drawings. The decals are in amazing 'excellent++' condition and were not issued with the wartime kits. The large sheet includes the correctly-shaded hull numbers, hull portholes, superstructure square windows and even doors. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts.

Beautiful model of the early Fortress 'Swoose' that lead an exciting career as a transport aircraft after serving as a bomber in the South Pacific. After service against the Japanese early in the war, she found her way to Australia and served as a navigational leader for other formations. Then General Brett made her his personal transport. The aircraft survived the war, the only 'D' Fortress to do so and is being restored in Dayton OH by the Air Force Museum. When I saw her there many years ago, you could still clearly see the original 'Swoose' painting on the fuselage. Well molded with all fine recessed panel lines. Features excellent cockpit detail, optional position landing gear, rotating props and wheels and more. Never started.
