1954 pre-'S' hardbox in 'Excellent+' condition. The stunning artwork by Richard Kishady makes it easy to see why these kits are so collectible and valuable today. Features optional position landing gear and cockpit hatch, boarding ladder and pilot in the boxart pose. Molded in correct high-gloss white plastic and clear plastic. Never started. Inside the kit is as new with all the small parts still sealed in the factory 'crinkle' bag. All other parts have been inventoried complete with decals in 'Near Mint' and instructions in 'excellent' condition with the usual yellowing.

The box is in 'Excellent+' condition with factory-new color and gloss, four solid corners, no fading, tears, creases or missing litho, no price tags or marks from them and no tape or marks from tape other than the factory sealing tape. The only thing keeping it from being graded higher are the white rub marks in the 'res' of "Superfortress." Inside the model is factory-new with all the small parts still sealed in the clear bag. All the large parts that were never sealed have been inventoried complete. Includes decals in amazing 'near mint' condition and instructions in 'excellent' condition. Box art shows tail number 294106, a B-29A-30-MN built at Renton, WA.

The box is exceptional with like-new color and gloss, four solid corners, no tape or price tags and no fading or litho pulls. The only flaws are very light edge/corner wear and light general wear. The big near-1/48 scale kit is molded in gloss silver and clear and includes the large clear triangle-based stand. Never started. Inventoried complete with all parts, decals and and instructions. Even the original tissue paper is included.

Museum quality craftsman model in large scale. Features hardwood, kiln-dried, factory-carved hull, extensive high quality cast Britannia fittings and other hardwood and metal parts as required. Includes very detailed full size plans and illustrated instruction booklet. The kit has never been started. The fittings are all still in the factory sealed bags. The parts that were never factory sealed (hull, wood and metal stock) have been inventoried complete. Includes all paperwork. The Wickes-class destroyers were a successful class of 111 destroyers built between 1917-19. Along with the 6 preceding Caldwell class and 156 of the very similar Clemson class destroyers, they were commonly known as "flush-deck" or "four-stackers". Although built very quickly (some set a record, like the USS Ward), only a few were completed in time to serve in World War I, including USS Wickes, the lead ship of the class. These Four Stackers saw a great deal of service; the Ward fired the opening shots of WWII and the Reuben James was the first US ship sunk. After the transfer of many of these ships to the British (who were terribly short on destroyers), one of the Lend-Lease ships, USS Buchanan became the HMS Campbeltown which rammed and destroyed the French docks that were big enough to repair the Bismarck class battleships.

The master was researched in depth and built to museum standards. In making the molds, the silicone was de-aired in a vacuum chamber; then the resin was pressure cast. This method makes for virtually air-bubble-free parts with flawless detail. Scale fidelity and historical accuracy are top-rate throughout. Requires assembly and painting - photo shows assembled and painted model. Includes museum-quality resin castings, metal castings and a large fret of photoetched brass parts.
